Fun start! Lots of great action in this one, hope they didn't spend it all on the first episode.

I love it when they use real places I've been in Japan! Of course it was in one piece when I was there...

Gorgeous animation, especially during that fight scene in the beginning.

Character designs are pretty hit or miss for me. The red-haired lady cop & her partner look good, as does the lady leader of the Butterfly crew, but everyone else looks pretty strange to me.

Concept is obviously very original and cool, despite the fact that we're probably looking at a coming of age story. I'm guessing the condemned criminal is Cecil's mom, wrongly imprisoned without representation. I like that she has some motivation for her sense of justice. She's quite impulsive, so we'll have to see if she can find the middle ground between her energy and making good decisions. Conjuring a familiar to deal with a couple of muggers seemed a little too strong of a reaction.

I could do without the frog being a pervert, also.

If your main magical talent is being a summoner, expecting her to fight the muggers without it is rather dumb... assuming she is mostly a summoner. On the other hand, if your intention is to scare off said muggers then a cute, skinny, teenage girl in a miniskirt isn't very threatening, so conjuring a huge mecha-thing is the best choice.

The frog being a pervert was funny... if they save it for the occasional comedy bit and don't have him obnoxiously running around being a pervert ALL the time, then it's fine with me.

Loved it. That's definitely up there for my favorite opening episodes this season.

The character models are very reminiscent of Kite and Mezzo Forte. I really enjoyed the battles and the different styles of magic presented. It seems obvious that Cecil's mother is the condemned criminal. That's probably why she got into law. Bonus that she's Canadian. Interesting fact: the M0V 0V0 postal code does not exist; that was probably intentional, since M postal codes are for Toronto.

Probably like area code 555 that they use for movie phone numbers.

Very cool that she is from Ontario Canada though, and that I've been to the part of Tokyo where they are! Very, very small world...

The character designs are cute and different for sure.

I don't exactly enjoy the human character designs, but I like the premise and it was a pretty good episode. It'll be interesting about which route this show takes.

Well damn, Arms! This show has a lot of potential. It already looks to be my favorite Arms show simply cause while it still has some slight fa service, it so far hasn't been their typical over the top variety.

Cecil is a badass! I assume that was her mom she visited. Wonder what she did......

And someone set a trap to get Cecil to use magic. I'm going to guess it was the prosecution?

Oh and I LOVE everyone's character designs. So damn unique. Everyone looks different from one another.

Finally this show is just downright pretty. I love how they've incorporated CGI so far.

This is probably one of the best looking shows airing this season, with some EXCELLENT action sequences that pretty much blow almost everything else airing this season out of the water. The concept of magical lawyers seem pretty fresh too. A definite follow.

Loved the first episode definitely going on my surprisingly ever growing list of anime to watch this season. I still have my eye on "The Pilots Love Song" for being anime of the season BUT if anything this will probably be the most well animated anime of the season for sure.

Do you need to watch the previous series to understand this "The Pilots Love Song"?

Is the first episode good?

TY!

Heh, no wonder that the art, the character design and story looks oddly familiar. The director of Wizard Barrister is also the director of Mezzo Forte.
