I'm certainly enjoying the show so far, even if some of the terminology used is...odd.

Aoba, he is off to the future where there is some galactic war going on. And then there was someone who traveled into the past out for his head. I'm not exactly sure what is going on here, but it sure looks interesting. Compared to other mecha shows, this one is fairly bland. I will give it another episode to see which direction this show goes.

Only watched the first episode, and one thing quickly became apparent.

It seems like Buddy Complex sure loves close ups on its giant Mecha.

Now, one could argue this is perhaps an artistic choice to put the GIANT back in giant mecha shows....

...but it also seems to take me a bit out the action scenes.

I was actually expecting this. I mean.. it's Sunrise. I don't remember a Sunrise anime where something similar wasn't a part of the story.

Since I've been comparing this to El Hazard since ep1 I can pretty much say I saw this development coming.

Anyone who has watched El Hazard: The Magnificent World should know what I mean.

Something about the designs and animation is turning me off. The story seems interesting, so I'll continue watching. Not expecting much though.

Good evening every buddy....get it?

I've just finished the first episode. Impressions are simple. The show is rather......neat. I liked the characters introduced in the opening epsiode, despite calling every little thing. His best friend, his family, the fact that you'll probably never see them again after this episode.

I was damn touched by his Basketball friends story.. and more touched by the fact that THAT'S ALL WE'LL GET OUT OF THAT. Even if his friend shows up again later, It's blown the coup. Screw school life.

Our Hero Aoba, is your standard Amuro Ray. I FREAKIN KNEW IT! Oh sure, he's less anti-social. But that's besides the point, this kid is just channeling Amuro Ray right from the start, I bet he's even a Newtype. Also, callback points on ending up in a Gundam/Clone laying down just to have the iconic sitting up scene.

The opening has told me that Char-Clone here is, despite all "just wait and sees" I heard, is in fact a Char Clone. He's blond, has a red robot, and what looks like a sister. Sure sure she could be an older sister or younger crossdressing brother...but THE GUY HAS A SIBLING IT'S A CHAR CLONE, YOU ALL KNOW IT.

The animation is as expected, freaking amazing, and the mecha designs might be a little too Gundam, if that makes sense.

Storytelling wise, I expect something rather nice. I'm interested to know what's going to happen to our hero, and how he's affected by this turn of events. The more the better I'll say.

like I said when it was first announced, it's pure Sunrise. this show may not be it by name, but it's definitely following the Gundam playbook word for word.

Oh, I forgot to post my thoughts.

I've seen like what? 2-3 mech shows and it already feels generic to me, somehow. In other words, I'm not super interested, but it does look nice & they'll probably keep me around until they explain where the pretty girl went.

Just watched episode 2 and I'm liking this show, the mechs don't look that great but I like the characters and the story, yeah very generic but still good imo.

Coupling lol

Episode 3
Initially planned to drop this this episode but seeing as how Hina reappeared I'll hold out for a few more episodes.

Since Funimation is being slow in getting it online, I've been looking for other sources to watch episode 3.
