Her character is based off her yes.

So for those who don't understand that... Joan of Arc was burned at the stake for heresy.

I gave it like 3.5/4 out of 5 starts for a start. It had some good looking action, what little there was, the characters seem decent enough right now, and I kind of want to see where it goes from here.

The only down parts were really it seemed to jump around just a bit too much, between dreams, the two stars and it's characters, etc etc.

What I can't comprehend is that why foot soldiers only have swords, spears, bows and arrows. How are they supposed to fight giant mechs with those weapons.

This was hilarious, in the same way Kuroko's Basketball is hilarious. Which is to say, I'm going to enjoy this thoroughly

I think this is going to be just one of those fun mecha anime that you shouldn't really put too much thought into. If you don't turn your brain off while you're watching an episode you'll end up finding way too many things that don't make sense. With that being said, I did enjoy the first episode and while, as I said, there's a ton of things that don't make sense (Leonardo Da Vinci and King Arthur? Giant mechs? LOL) it was a good time overall.

I'll watch this and see how it goes, but I think this will end up being my guilty pleasure anime of the season.

Absolutely right, this is one of the best possible examples of a "turn your brain off at the door" anime. Joan of Arc is saved by a Tarot card dealing Leonardo Da Vinci who flies in a spaceship between the two east and west stars but they crash land where Nobunaga the Fool saves her and begins piloting the mecha which can only be controlled by the savior king (Messiah?). It reminds me a little bit of Time Bandits but in this case it seems all major figures from history are in one place and time where there is feudalism and spaceships and mecha. It makes absolutely NO sense, none at all! But it might be fun...

...or it might be completely stupid but I shall give it at least a few more tries.

I actually enjoyed this. Historical/Mythical figures reincarnated in a sci fi setting repeating their original fates.

Only to have those fates collide with each other to see what different results we might get.

Do two Dooms make a Victorious legend or will they both meet tragedy once more.

*chuckles*

Okay, I'm hooked. Let's do this. It doesn't have to make a whole lot of sense. I just want to see where they go with it. And this is young Nobunaga, analogous to how he was before he started winning impossible victories and writing his own legend. Usually, we only see him when he's already his mustached badass self. This time, we're along for the ride.

Dropped. I needed to shorten the watch list anyway. I found myself distracted as I tried to watch this, but it couldn't keep my attention. It went too many directions for me to enjoy. Leave your brain at the door when watching this doesn't work for me; I'm too left brained and this went way out in left field. I have alot to watch this season, unfortunately this won't be one of them.

Lol, I always partly shut down my brain to enjoy some anime. I just put the question there first just in case later on there are battles that soldiers charge towards the mechs with swords and spears and get annihilated, and then pepole yell wth in the comment section.
