why is it that whenever the main lead is a female character I can't bring myself to watch it
Posted 1/18/14
^ Remind me to base all my stories around female mc's. We could use some more.

It was a pleasant surprise given that I imagined it to another cliche romantic drama--see Nisekoi, aka a plate of hairy cheese. The story's pretty generic and the number of episodes pretty much guarantees that no in-depth character development or moral themes are going to be explored thoroughly, but the interactions are fluid and simplistic enough to enjoy it as it is. The humor hits me well enough to continue watching; I don't think it can disappoint too much with its current set-up. Maybe just a little less constant bursting into tears by the mc and it'll be a solid show.

Ep. 1-2

Inari is in love with Kouji, and Kouji is apparently in love with Akemi. So out of desperation, Inari becomes Akemi, only to later find out that living someone else's life isn't easy to do. So instead, she can transform into anybody she wants. And that is put to the test in the second episode seeing how her job is to not transform at all for a day. Seems easy enough, right? Not when the gods have other plans doing things to get her to transform. Then things get desperate when Inari is forced to transform to help her friend that has collapsed from heat exhaustion. But it turns out the real test was about the bonds between Inari and Uka, and she passed that one with flying colors.

Anyway, this show is off to a nice start, and it looks like I am going to really like it.

Fairly good episode, I'm hoping that not every episode has to have depressing stuff in it. I can't take a lot of drama in an anime because that wears me out really fast.

Episode 2

Well that was interesting. It turned out to be a test huh? I guess helping out a friend in need is more important just obeying rules or following some order. The fact that Inari ultimately did transform was for someone else other than herself so the elders respected that.

Oh and I think her luck is getting better too because that "confession" turned out to be just a request for Sumizome to become manager. Other than that, there's might be some bad blood between Inari's bro against the goddess. Let the drama BEGIN.

I know it's an anime and all but if the brother really knew that she was a goddess, he's got some serious balls to push her away like that. Luckily for him she's a very benevolent goddess.

I'm betting there's some history between them as well as bad blood. Gotta have some drama to spice things up.

Maybe she's not as benevolent as she seems or there was an incident between them in the past. A wish gone wrong? Perhaps that's why she was willing to give up a piece of her godhood to help Inari.

If I watch this in a series right after Sakura Trick and Chu2 Ren, I am sure I will end up in a diabetic coma. xD

It seems to be heading into "were redoing the story because we only have a few episodes" territory though.

Inari reminds me of Yura from C³-bu.

that aside, im liking the story so far. will have to look into the manga. ten episodes and a OVA seems far too short for serious plot development without cutting a few corners.

Ep. 3

Inari and Uka have some pretty nasty brothers there. Inari's brother can see Uka and is fed up with her, while Uka's brother is able to transform as well, taking on Inari's appearance at school and causing all sorts of problems. Inari's power will someday return to Uka and when that happens, she will have nothing to do with the gods anymore. But for now, she needs to stabilize them since it is out of control. Anyway, it's another nice episode here, and more of the gods are introduced here. It will be interesting to see just how Touka handles all of this when he finds out the whole truth about the matter. In the meantime, Uka is playing more otome games, one of them bought from Toys R Mine waiting for the day she will get her powers back.

Episode 3

String shield? Seriously? lol.

This was a weird episode though. It's like you're looking into a mirror since someone else also transformed into Inari taking on her appearance effectively. Uka-san's brother is really strange. I find him a bit obnoxious and childish tbh with what he was doing at school there.

Miya also made her debut as one of the five pillars. I hope to see more of her soon. There also seems to be a connection between Inari's bro with Uka-san. Lol @ the ending though..

Funny, enjoyable. Indeed the goddess playing video games was quite funny. Not sure where this is going to go in 10 episodes. Beautiful artwork, cute character designs, I like the characters too but it seems like a lot of storylines for 7 more episodes to wrap up well.
