Hey I enjoyed the show but I just watched this on CR the other day and I like smooth anime scenes. Really check this out it's long but teaches a lot about how animation is done. You have no idea!

I have every idea. ;)
I took an evening course in animation and with the amount of stuff I had to draw and what they tell me I get paid, I decided not to pursue this line of work.

But with SYD, there are animations short-cuts obviously, but it's on par with episode 1 introductions that they are more "animated".

Must be you since the episode was quite animated, especially the fight scene as it has soo much motion that I'm sure they blew all their budget for the next few episode.

Rewatched the episode again and check with other anime fans that the first episode is definitely highly animated. The opening segments, the scene where Shino goes looking for Tsuda, the railway scene, and especially the judo fight scenes were definitely well animated with loads of motion.

I still think there some scenes in the 1St half where some shortcuts might have been taken. The judo scene was fluid! Could have been different doing more minor scenes. Still going to watch! Never said I disliked it!

The first season is one of my favorite comedy series, and I'm really happy that we finally got a second season.

I'm actually surprised CR was able to bring the series here; when I talked to some NIS America people about them bringing the first season of SYD to the US about a year ago, they told me it was too extreme/awkward for them to bring in. Take note: this series was too extreme for NIS America, makers of the Disgaea series, and localizers of Demon King Enma, to localize.

As for the first episode, well... all I needed was a second season. That's all I asked for. What I got was some seriously good animation, and awesome fight scene, and rapid-fire pervy jokes with impeccable timing. Oh. My. Goodness.

But yeah, with that animation on the first episode, though, just wait and see. The next 6 episodes will just be stills of Shino and Tsuda in suggestive positions while the voice actors perform skits in the voiceovers.

Not really sure what shortcuts or whatever they took on the animation but everything overall seems a lot nicer

During the opening credits:

"Gohands does this series? It must be a cash hog they slack off during between serious projects."

During the judo fight:

"I'M SORRY I EVER DOUBTED YOU GOHANDS, I'LL LOVE YOU FOREVER!"

Great start for the second season, and it looks like they got a pretty large animation budget this time, unless we start seeing them skimp a lot on the future episodes, but I doubt that.
