Oh wow. I can't wait.

I was just expecting the flashback, but they got Saki's dream in as well.

That's pretty much everything up to this point in the manga that I can remember.

Is this season really only 13 episodes? Are we going to have to wait 4 more years for the finish of the tournament? :(

Pretty much, yeah.

This season covered chapters 64-ish to 106, and we're only on chapter 124 this month, halfway through the next game.

Well it ended today so yeah, it's 13 episodes.

Anyways, I'm going to miss this show and its characters along with the gameplay styles of every one of them. Don't mind me, I just took a random screenshot this episode:

I have a question btw. Manga readers, what chapter did this finale end? and did it skip any significant parts?

So the finale ended around chapter 106?

Yep.

Right on it, basically. 107+ is new material.

I don't think anything was skipped but it's been awhile since I read this part of the manga.

There is nothing AT ALL random about that screen shot. I approve of it 100% of course and would have posted it myself if you hadn't beaten me to it.

Yes, the next match is not done in the manga. Then there is the final after that. Then the heat death of the universe. Then the individual matches...

Looking ahead a little, the announcers really benefit from the anime.

Their quirks come across better, in the manga it's easy to just skim over them.

So they threw in some crazy that ep, all my guesses about the Miynaga family are officially off the table.

Also it's funny, in the Season 1 end credits they previewed all the way to the final match, they actually covered a lot less this time. (probably because they expect to get a new season).

Still seriously, I knowthere are reasons and stuff, but the pace just KILLS me. From what was said above, this covered 3 and a half years of manga content.

Edit: And I just realized, wheelchair girl is totally the 5th player on Teru's team.

Funny coincidence. I was just mentioning to someone that I thought that the announcers in the anime really added a lot to it.

Usually the person sitting on the left (from their perspective) seems rather same-y =/

WHAT?NO JUST NO! GOD DAYYUM NO! ME NEEDZ MORE! Sigh. So how long are we going to wait? 2 Years for sure? I think Saki first season was made in 2011 or 12. And considering that manga and anime are different guess I should start reading it.

The anime follows the manga rather religiously.

Since the chapters are already so short and there's only 12-14 of them a year they need every scrap of story they can get to keep the anime running. Unless you meant Saki: Achiga-hen - Episode of Side-A, which is based on a 20-chapter side-story manga by the same author that happens parallel to the main story in the original Saki manga.

The first season of Saki was in 2009 and covered the first ~55 chapters.
Then they took a break, and did Saki: Achiga-hen - Episode of Side-A in 2012.
Saki: The Nationals went back to the main manga, up to chapter 106.

This month the manga should be on chapter 124.

The manga is still good though, I wouldn't want to dissuade you from reading it or anything.

Actually, that's unlikely. Awai's hair is a darker blonde/brown and her eyes are blue. The girl in Saki's flashback has really light blonde hair (Miyanaga hair tuft included) and red eyes, though a different shade than both Teru's or Saki's. Likely related, at least, in my eyes. Pics under spoiler to save space.

So i better wait 4 years before season 3.
Well i want to see Nelly so badly, can`t wait to hear her voice.

If season 3 is about semi-finals, then season 4 is about the finals.
Team Kiyosumi vs. Team Achiga would be epic, i`m expecting this will be the climax happy ending.

The funny thing is that's not even the finale. The finale is the singles tournament ending up with Saki finally coming face to face and playing with Teru.
