Howdy folks, I'm a little new to posting around here, but I wanted to bring up something in case others didn't realize this. Crunchyroll Store prices on figures are some of the ABSOLUTE best on the net that I've found. Take it from a guy who's spent thousands on figures and statues. My collection is still somewhat modest and available to be viewed from my profile (obvious & shameless plug), but trust me when I've been comparing the CR Store figure prices to places like J-List, eBay/Amazon, and even imports like amiami...you couldn't ask for a better price with reasonable shipping rates from the CR store.

Doooooo it! Buy stuff!! \(~.~)/ Hehe. So yeah, just sharing.

I am myself a frequent and very satisfied customer of the CR store. I primarily order anime, and have always received prompt delivery and attentive customer service.

For me, (I primarily buy Anime/Manga) Crunchyroll isn't the best option, unless it's something like a very specific T-shirt (POYO!!!) or item I can't find elsewhere. I like it when you can get a T-shirt with free shipping, but that's not common. Since I'm an e-tailer shopping fanatic I REALLY shop around before buying somewhere. In the past, I've had positive experiences with Crunchyroll, don't get me wrong, but when I see like an Anime DVD/Blu for 40% off, I kind of scoff a little, "THAT'S the best you can do?" And tax really kills most of the deals for me. So, as you can imagine, unless there's a free shipping option for a specific item, I'm probably going to go elsewhere because tax and shipping really eats up any savings for me. Figures aren't really my thing, but I thought there were better places to buy figures from. Another thing I don't like is you're charged up front. Most other places I order from do not charge you until an item ships/is ready to ship. I guess I got used to not being charged until an item ships. It seems to me it would avoid headaches to just charge you when your order ships, but whatever. Crunchy DOES tell you that you're charged right away so it's not a surprise.

So anyway, I still think shopping around is best to find the best deal, but I haven't had any negative experiences from Crunchyroll so they're still OK for certain items. You just need to be aware that you're charged up front and those that live in California have to pay sales tax. (Purchasing a membership DOES NOT charge tax since it's a service.)

I'd buy more often if they charged you once it becomes available and not months in advance. I buy a decent amount every month elsewhere and it's easier in general to make the purchase because of this. I've spent over 800 bucks over the past 4 months on figures and other random anime merch, and it's much easier to pay 200 a month (approx) versus 800 all at once.

I will say that even though their shipping tends to be high enough on some things, it sure beats international shipping. I paid 100 bucks in shipping alone in September and October, which still blows my mind.

In fact, if CR changed it's charging policy and could provide the same broad range of merch as a place like AmiAmi, I'd pretty much use CR exclusively.

Art-chan, I understand all of your points, and I suppose I can post a few comparison links on the figures to validate my story. ;)

http://www.crunchyroll.com/store/p/82528/Suguha-Kirigaya-18-Scale

$90 for Premium member, shipping will be about $7 or even free if you use their special promo atm

http://www.jbox.com/product/PRE3476

$120 for the same figure, shipping will run a minimum of $16 for the lowest, non-tracked, possibly lose your item shipping, $25-30 for fast premium EMS

http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-003891&page=top%

$75 roughly at current conversion, however they usually only offer EMS for figures and from Japan that will easily run you $35-$50

All in all, I could go on, and compare other figures. The point I was just trying to make for other figure otakus was that CR is a great place to shop for some figures. Naturally they don't have everything here at CR. Do I still shop at J-List and Amiami? Of course! Nobody shops at just one spot.

Call me weak, but when I've pre-ordered items that I don't have to pay for until they ship...I sometimes run into "uh-ohs" with the bank not having enough funds when the shipment preorder hits. So for sites like CR that take your money upfront, for me that's a good thing as I have the money at the time I want to preorder the item so I pay and it never "surprises" me later. Yes that isn't perfect for everyone, nor for everything you'd want to preorder. So I understand if others don't find it very convenient, but they're a business....so...yeah...*shrug*

I understand that some folks have no interest in figures and would find the other items in the CR store to maybe be pricey or non-competitive. Nobody's perfect. ;)

Really, the "best" price you could get for figures is to order like $2k worth of stuff from a store like amiami or hobbyjapan, but who does that besides other stores buying it from them and selling for a profit.

Some stuff on CR is pretty cheap. Especially when it's on the "deal of the day" thing. As far as figures that I've bought (which isn't many), the prices on CR are a bit cheaper because shipping isn't outrageous. Seriously, why do I need to pay $50 shipping on an $80 figure? That's not even worth it.

I've bought stuff on CR and Amiami mostly, and I prefer shopping on CR because of the shipping costs and better customer service. However, like someone else pointed out, I would like it if CR charged when a pre-ordered item becomes available, instead of immediately at checkout.

I don't buy hard copies of anime or manga, so I can't speak for the prices of those.

Thanks for confirming that. I wasn't sure if I understood it correctly when I was going to pre-order a couple of figures. I'm in full agreement; I'd much rather get charged once the item is available or just prior to shipping.

When CR Store starts to sell bento boxes for me to store my food THEN I'll be a buyer! Only if it has to do with food though because what's the use of figurines and charms if I can't devour them?!?!

I've been here on CR for fairly long(back when the had Code Geass), but I'm pretty new to the money spending thing, and I've got to say I'm hooked, I check the daily deals every day. Just ordered a Capsule corp T-shirt, and my only caveat is the length in time it takes to ship to Canada. Oh and not CR in general, but those times from preorder to release is brutal to wait, mugiwara Nami and Luffy version Z... like March 2014, blahh.

Well, I'm still waiting for my order, tracking says it was in Canada customs clearance since Dec 14th as per that tracking tag. I'll have to wait and see, it could just be the Christmas season slowing things down this much. I'm in Edmonton by the way, so its not just shipping to a backwater town or something.
