I really don't want to bother anybody here, but this issue has been reoccurring many times.

Here's the problem:
It feels like the downloading speed is really slow. The quality of videos are low, sometimes it has to stop and buffering for 1 minute. I've been able to stream on the highest quality most of the time, and it generally last more than a week. Also, it generally happens during holiday. So I think maybe the server cannot handle too much traffic?

I connect my Xbox360 to my router with Ethernet cable. I did speed test on both speedtest.net and speedof.me with my laptop using the cable of my Xbox360. And here's the results:

Speedtest.net:
Ping: 27ms
Download speed: 16.14Mbps
Upload speed: 1.06Mbps

SpeedOf.Me:
Ping: 41ms
Download speed: 2.68 Mb/s
Upload speed: 1.3 Mb/s

I think this speed is enough for HD streaming since I have no problem streaming HD movies offered by xbox live.

I had this issue some time ago and a Crunchyroll Rep responded; it may likely bee that due to the higher-than-normal traffic (fewer folks going to work / school due to the holidays) that the CDN, or Content Delivery Network, is experiencing higher-than-normal traffic. Keep in mind, too, that you're moving through Microsoft's Azure platform since you're accessing CR through your Xbox so you may see some latency through there, too.

Are you seeing this happen at certain times, or is this a constant?

For me, I saw this issue around 8:00pm and 10:00pm on most nights; I haven't seen much of an issue lately, though, when it get's crummy outside (like it is now) I see a little performance drop. Note, my download speeds are around the 6MBps down / 2.5MBps up at 87-88ms ping.

Now that you mentioned, today same thing happened right before 8:00pm. I guess their server can't handle that huge amount of traffic.

I would continue to monitor the performance and see if you can pick up any patterns, any feedback you provide to the Crunchyroll forums is, I am most definitely assured, helpful.

Keep in mind, too, that the particular series you're watching may, too, have different performance behaviors than others at different times of the day. If you're watching a highly popular series during peak times, you may see a drop in quality streaming (the same can be said for other streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, TheAnimeNetwork and Funimation!); when Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) was still being simulcast I saw massive performance hits on the 360, the PS3, the Kindle, and both my laptops, so I got into the habit of watching the episode a day or two later, when traffic slowed a bit and the CDN wasn't so taxed. Maybe you could adopt a similar process?

Just a thought; I know it's not helpful, but I thought I'd chime in on the subject.

Happy watching!

I think you are totally right. Now, 1:40pm the newest episode of Hunter x Hunter is constantly streamed at lowest quality. It probably because it was released only several hours ago, and everybody is at home today. Any way, Merry Christmas to you
