do you know anyone who doesn't listen to music? or dislike it entirely?

well I love to sing, so obviously I love music since I was young, and I've always thought that music was an essential element of everyone's life... until I started noticing that my mom doesn't listen to it at all. She doesn't have her own personal records or anything and doesn't voluntarily listen to any music or radio stations! And she admitted herself she doesn't like music.

Which is an exact opposite of me! I've never imagined it possible for someone to not be into music, since it's such a beautiful thing... but anyway, what about you?

Wow! Honestly, I have never met a person that didn't listen to music. I know people who don't own a lot of music (digital or physical), but I don't know anyone that doesn't have a favorite song or listen to music at some point through out the day/week. Music has always been, along with food, one of those common bonds between me and the rest of humanity.

I couldn't imagine not listening to music. I can not sing (terrible voice) or play any instrument (let alone read sheet music), but I would psychologically wither without music in my life.

Music was never particularly important to me. I listen to it, but I'm not one of those "without music I would die" people. I would be just fine without it.

I've always wondered if there were people that dislike or even hate music as a whole, truth be told they exist and it's not too shocking. I, personally never met someone like that though.

I know people who don't listen to music much (I'm one of them--I like music, I just don't find a lot of time for listening), but I've never encountered anyone who, to my knowledge, didnt' like music

(Actually, if listening a couple times a week to podcasts that talk about and play music counts maybe the amount I listen to music really is more than "not much.)

This leads me to wonder--how much listening do various kinds of music listeners do? How much time a day/week do avid music lovers listen to? Casual music likers? People who like music but are too busy to listen much?

I myself very rarely listen to music...I can quite easily go weeks without doing so & not feel upset or strange

I've never personally met a person who doesn't like any music at all (at least as far as I remember), but I am not particularly shocked to see that there are such people. After all, anything that isn't a human need isn't something everyone likes.

I think casual music lovers are still into music--in some shape or form. But in the case of people like my mom--they don't voluntarily listen to music, if music is played in the background or something, they either get irritated or remain neutral depending on the song.

As an avid music lover, I listen to music whenever it is possible; on the train to work, in the bathroom (odd I Know), and even before I go to sleep xD

The only time I listen to music is in games and videos, don't care for it, especially the majority of what they call music these days.

Most music (including classical) is enough to trigger sensory overload in me (I get sensory overload really easily), so I don't listen to it that much. There are some songs I like, which I tend to listen to on repeat when I listen to music, but I can go days or weeks without listening to anything.
