Well I've always been into it. I can't really say what my very first one was but as as I grew up there was Voltron, and many others before that (I'm 45) and the thing that always drew my attention was these were drawn by people (Yes I know they use computers now, but some are still hand drawn) and they were always something really cool I thought. Over the years I started watching more and more, couldn't get enough! Started with mech stuff, and then went from there. I will say thanks to Crunchyroll what I have watched has broadened 10 fold! Before a romantic high school comedy? NEVER! Now it's one of many things I choose to watch.

The great thing about anime is that there is a genera for any one! And if you have a open mind willing to try new things you'll find that there is so many more anime s you would have never thought to watch. At times I wish I was born in Japan "A world of anime" so I had unlimited resources of anime! Anime that other wise wouldn't make it to the shores of the USA. But thanks to great sites like Crunchyroll I'm able to see them.

So Thanks Crunchyroll for all this and much more to come! It's great to be a part of this world here and interact with others of the like minded anime watchers.

1. I'd say search it up. Unfortunately I don't keep in touch with the anime community much; aside from CR.

2. Not a problem in my books, people are people. I'm interested in prehistoric technology, anthropology, evolution and I'm even a hardcore mountain biker.

3. When I was a kid they played tons of anime on T.V., from DBZ to Ghost in the Shell. I didn't really start exploring anime until I was 13, got bored with Bleach and Naruto and wanted to look for stuff that was different. Ended up finding Berserk and I loved it.

4.
- Cowboy Bebop (the dubbed version is the best, try not to read reviews, you don't want spoilers)
- Baccano! (again, dubbed is best for this series)
- Durarara!! (on CR, subbed)
- Kokoro Connect (mostly on CR except the last few episodes, subbed)
- Xamd: Lost Memories (on CR, subbed)
- Anohana (apparently not on CR anymore)
- Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood (dubbed is best)

First anime ever was Escaflowne. It was legit the only way my parents could get my (6 year older) brother and I in the same room with each other without us fighting to the death. (I'm not kidding. We were violent kids.)

Then it was Inu-Yasha and Witch Hunter Robin and then it kind of went downhill from there. YTV was my gateway drug.

Back in the Philippines some channels show anime in Tagalog dub. Shows like Dragon Ball, Yuyu Hakusho, Flame of Recca, Gundam G, Gundam WIng, Shaman King. Pretty much this got me to watching anime since my childhood is that. Also my family watches it before so they don't mind it watching with me!

Vocaloid got me into vocaloid. An artist on newgrounds posted a picture of Miku Hatsune and the picture was my favourite on newgrounds. On Christmas eve I was browsing know your meme and recognised Miku as the icon for vocaloid which was counted as a meme. I was curious and read up about vocaloid - finding out that it was what I was looking for in the past 2 years.

Before that I had actually hated anime and all it's sub-topics. On newgrounds the general attitude was that those who liked anime were weeaboos or people who dated their pillows. I was brought up to hate on anime - and to this day I still hate weeaboos. After discovering vocaloid, I gave anime a second chance and it lead to a new era of my life - the anime era.

Giving things I hate a second chance seems to lead to huge changes in my life.

Well, I used to watch anime as a kid like Pokémon and Gundam Wing and DBZ, but I never really got into it until I was watching Polaris on YouTube this summer and they talked about Attack on Titan being a really good anime to watch. So I jumped in and about half a year later, I've watched almost 60 different anime

1.It is pretty hard to keep in touch, but I guess these forums help a lot.
2. That's not really an issue, I am antisocial but I also enjoy sports. I rarely talk to people but I don't think I would even if I quit watching anime.
3. I got into anime watching shows like Naruto, Dragonball, and Avatar(not technically an anime but it is so good I think of it as one). I quit watching anime for awhile and I got back into it 4 years ago. I started watching shows like Gurren Lagann, Cowboy Bebop, and GTO.
4.Recommendations:
Attack on Titan (amazing, the last episode of S1 is my fav anime episode ever!)
Great Teacher Onizuka
Hunter x Hunter (2011)
gankutsuou (beautiful art style, awesome retelling of The Count of Monte Cristo)

Grew up as a Pokemon addict, watched Shugo Chara! some years ago, decided to watch another anime after finishing it in less than one week, and my addiction slowly scaled up from there.

I probably would've become an Anime addict way~ before that, but I didn't have internet or cable as a kid, bad childhood T_T

My first experience with anime was in high school at my friends house and he was watching Gundam. I didn't see what was so cool about it and to be honest, I wondered why he was watching "cartoons"

Many years later in my late 20's as it is now I was bored one day flipping through netfilx and came across Elfen Lied; I loved it. I found it to be amazing albeit tragic. After that I watched Shikabane Hime and really enjoyed that as well and eventually I just happened to find myself watching a lot of anime and then started reading manga.

It started with Voltron, Battle of the Planets, and Robotech; of course at the time, I just knew it was awesome, didn't have a clue it was this "anime" thing.

Some of the channels would air stuff late night like Vampire Hunter D, and some other movies; and that's when I learned the proper name, other than calling it an animated show or cartoon.

As time went on I enjoyed such things as the short lived Dragon Quest anime and Technoman, the release of Dragon Ball, and a ton of other things. SciFi and Tech TV's blocks. Of course Toonami in it's various incarnations.

As of late, my love of anime has waned since most everything becomes so much like everything in the past.
Gets to a point where you can only watch the same thing re-imagined with cat-ears, dog-ears, fish tails, giant robots, over-excited girls, effeminate boys, or shiny new CG so many times.

I would recommend Gurren Lagann, Kill La Kill, Watamote, My mental choices are completely interfering with my school romantic comedy, and etc. There's more but I really liked those

I first got into anime when I was staying awake late one night and saw a show called Inuyasha on. Fell in love with it on the first episode. After that, I always stayed awake or try to get up at 2am just to watch it.
