Moving to the Playstation 3 app forum. You will find better help here.

They really should allow these content settings to be altered on the apps themselves.

People wanting to watch stuff on their TV of portable device are probably wathcing on a not-website platform for a reason.

Most likely they can't allow the filter to be turned on and off in the app because of Apple's and Sony's store policies. By forcing the account holders to go through the specific service's (CR, Netflix, Hulu, ect...) website to enable parental controls, this prevents children from turning on mature content from inside of the app.

The whole reason the mature content filter is even in place is because of Apple's and Sony's app policies.

What I think would be nice is some way for Crunchyroll to notify new users of the filter, or set it to show mature content as the default for anyone above a certain age.

And as I've said before, I wish that restricted shows could at least show up in a queue or a search under a "restricted content" placeholder. So at least people know the show exists, rather than assuming it's a bug.

As a lot of the time, a show will suddenly go restricted after a specific episode's content. And people tend to assume that disappearing things that were there before is a big. And understandably so.

Luckily for me, the first thing I do when signing up to any service is locate and disable and age-restriction content filters. But, at 36, I have to admit I am feeling increasingly annoyed and patronised to have to do that time after time after time.

Apple and Sony would have to change their policies to allow this.
