Elderly drivers

I am getting tired of being run off the road by old people. I have avoided two accidents (caused by elderly drivers), waited at traffic lights for decades, and gotten stuck behind the slowest of old people.

So, what age do you think their drivers license should be be confiscated, or do think at a certain age they should retake the drivers test, or take no action whatsoever?

Spew your opinions here!

i think at around age 55-60 they should have to start taking a drivers test each year. It might be a little bit on the early side but everyone is different and even at 55 people could start having problems with driving. It wouldn't solve the problems completely since old people can be super stubborn but it might help in a few cases. I am not in favor of just taking it away at a certain age without any other reasoning beyond the age factor though.

Twice in the month of December, I was in two accidents, both of which involved elderly drivers, and one of which cost thousands, and involved the entire side of my care removed! I do think once you reach a certain age -let's say, 60 and up - you need to take a test every year.

I believe 60 years and plus should have a driver test before they renew their licences.
I don't have many near misses since I mostly travel on highways to get anywhere but when I get behind an elder they are not doing the correct speed or someone else is behind them it can cause careless passing and road rage.
Another that bugs me is when they try to get into another lane, they don't look or use signal lights (that drives me nuts)

I am personally not bothered by older drivers. Many I have seen on the street here just drive very slow.

I think you should retake the test whenever you show signs of reckless driving or have caused a accident more than once and that could be for any driver, not just individuals over fifty. On when a license should be confiscated, I am not entirely sure. Maybe when the individual is seventy - eighty and they are not fit to drive anymore.

I'd say driving is a privilege and not a right, and if one cannot drive safely and with proper regard to everyone else (other drivers, pedestrians, cyclists and etc.-- including physical property) on or around the roads, one shouldn't be driving and being a public menace. That's regardless of age, and most of the nuts I see on the road are not in fact not elderly-- though some of course are. I don't have a particular age in mind at the moment, but I'd be an advocate for increased and more rigorous driver testing when one reaches a certain age. When I myself reach that point where I'm no longer safe on the road, I'll need to step aside too.

South of me is the crossroads of a retirement community and a haven for illegal aliens, you want to see a shit storm of people who shouldn't drive, go there.
If those weren't bad enough, go back north snow birds, you're worse drivers than anything Florida or Arizona has to offer.

Let's gather all the old people, put then in a Saturn V rocket, and send them to a retirement colony on the Moon. From there, it is the Martian's problems.

Usually I don't mind them driving really slow since it's slippery in here (snowing). The thing that bothers me a lot is the person driving behind me... I hate it when someone cuts me just to rush and get to the place they want to go. I cut them back
