If you take a moment, you can decipher the differences between the Japanese and Chinese language, if only a little. I can see where Qiang Lei turned into Kyou Kai.

The largest problem is how dull the name is. It's undescriptive and other titles elaborate themselves to hide it. Google Kingdom and you get Magi; Kingdom of Magi, which is far far far more popular right now. I'm just waiting for Xin to start using that Polearm/lance/spear/awesomesauce weapon already, forget the sword! I know it's the weapon of a hero....but it's not manly enough anymore.

It really is the most underrated title though, literally no one has heard of it. Although the manga just recently hit the two digit rankings on some sites so maybe it's just a matter of time. After that they just have to get through the hurdle which is season 1's terrible cgi scenes.
Hey I'm still waiting for him to get some proper general clothes and kill Houken. It's gonna be a long way away, but I literally don't mind if they spend another few hundred episodes showing his progression into a great general before he kills him

If you want the word to spread, all you got to do is talk about it. KEEP TALKING ABOUT EVERY CHAPTER YOU DAMN READ, SPREAD THE WORD!

Anyhow. I just completed the "Assassination Arc" that was skipped in the Anime, and for a few of the right reasons. It felt really odd how Qaing Lei decided to tell Shin her backstory like that, but this arc made sense of it, if only a little. I feel introducing the Palace Maid in Season 2 was the right call, she's damn useless in this arc.

Additionally, I now know why Xin didn't use his Armor right after he bought it!

It's not because the Anime was lazy and didn't want to go through a re-design and CGI upgrade, IT'S BECAUSE HE'S DAMN STUPID.

I'm glad the Anime got to the point of him using it, because he looks like a serious badass now. Like Guts from Berserk....AND It's been 3 years! Time flies when you're kickin'ass.

Promoting Kingdom on the forums was actually one of the reasons I started commenting on forums. Though it's a hard prospect spreading the word on crunchyroll... let's face it - the majority of people who love manga/anime are either into naruto or poorly scripted harems in a high-school setting - not Chinese history pffft

I didn't think the assassination arc fit the whole mood of idiots like Shin running around with a sword shouting "I'm going to be a great general!" But the whole brutal and tragic side to it was a good change of pace. And you feel a sort of development (either assassination arc or after I forgot) between the two. I'd be extremely disappointed if it turned into a harem, but the romantic developments are actually slow to non-existent it's so perfect.

Wait wait, so he left it behind? he should ditch his foot-soldier armour and get something like Ouhon's
It really is like Berserk in a sense, reminded me so much of the golden age arc when i first started

Man I just hope this manga keeps going until Sei reunites the entirety of China.

I have a feeling that back then, Xin's rank wasn't high enough or the fact he never had much financial support that could allow him to use armor in the first place because it was simply too expensive. He was a peasant. Also the fact that he got enough money to buy armor doesn't mean he can actually afford to maintain it. That is why I think he didn't want to risk it because some soldiers back then had to supply their own equipment. Ouhon's comes from a prestigious family so that is why he has his own armor. How else do you explain the siege tower.

Too true. I just didn't think they'd go so far into detail to worry about 'maintenance' and things like that. I mean, as a leader of his own unit you'd think he'd have something a bit more ornate, especially as the story progresses.

But never mind the trivialities, four simultaneous chapters just got put up god damn :-)

The way I see it. Xin JUST entered the Golden Age Arc when he put on the Armor, everything else was introduction! This here is the real meat of the story, and I'm having a hell of a time with it. It's perhaps a bit too early to tell, but after the eventual 3rd Season I feel the show will have hit it's proper stride...hopefully. I'm still rather hopeful of a 3rd Season by about Fall 2014 or at least Spring 2015.

He was actually too-small to have armor made for him, as well as at an age where he was growing(about 15ish to 16)
He actually bought slightly-larger armor with the intent to wait until he grew into it. He was unable to just wait however, as War happened faster than he grew.
The Design of his Armored-self is also slightly more muscular, if the Armor still a little cheap looking. I think the Author wanted to wait until Xin was ready for such an epic upgrade, rather than just adding armor he'd have to draw all the time. It just flows pretty well in the end. I'm honestly just waiting for the moment Xin starts using that Glaive...Glaives are beast.

I've finished Season 2 of the Anime, and I'm thinking of following up through the manga. But oooh, a few problems I be having. Names are confusing enough as it is you know! Kingdom makes great animation material too... it's just that kind of story to me, yah know?

It could also be that I have a huge headache right now, and trying to read Manga like that really pisses me off. So..I'ma continue it later tonight, and I'll show back up to tell you people my thoughts...because where else am I going to talk?

Nowhere, I'm assuming we three-four comprise Kingdom's CR fanbase ;__;

Really I'm just glad they didn't throw in anything like that eclipse arc, it left the worst taste in my mouth, and scarred me mentally as I read on - but I kept enduring. Well it kind of felt Berserk-esque during Kyoukai's telling her story to Shin too once I think about it.

Shin's actually starting to look pretty great where I'm up to, he still keeps his commoner clothes under his armour, I'm guessing that's just a nod to his background. Or as a memento of Hyou since they both wore the same clothes or something. And the glaive, man, I do too, but I'm hoping for years of plot development before he uses it to kill Houken or something like that, I can't get used to him having anything else besides his sword.

Has he killed any major generals yet in the anime? Or if you're up to there in the manga. When Shin lands that final hit, everyone is dead silent, and he holds up his sword and everyone watching screams "Uoooooohh!" and I just, I live for those moments.

Ok then! Started up the Manga.

Aaaaand the first page has Zheng's Mom doing the horizontal-tango in a steam bath with a Giant bald guy.... Damnit. I mean, once you've seen a 1-armed man being rapped by troll guts in the form of a Succubus, you've seen it all. But I was not ready for that.

The differences between the Manga and the Anime are only slight, the addition of colors really helps the art style's appeal, and the art style itself has it's own charm to help stick out. Hearing about the affair during the anime was sufficent....but the manga just haaad to take it a step further and show me the affair happening. Thanks for that.

Around where the anime cuts off, we have a lot of "lazy filler" in which the Author provides foreshadowing into the next arc, and it feels really slow and unnecessary to me. You can totally spend more time doing and less showing man, look at the other successful Manga's!

Anime-jump here. Season 2 ended with Zheng's announcement that he got the Chambermaid pregnant...and it's awesome news. I was totally slapped in the face with the revelations that he was, indeed, doing the Horizontal-bedsheets-Tango with her in the first place. I wonder if a chapter catches him in the act? You see, I have this thing for not liking the Moms...they're mom's and I'm not 40 yet. It's a no-no.
Zheng, you're winning at life right now. Don't fuck it up.

^ I say, with a posed look. Suspecting a few fuck ups incoming.

Oh, and Li Shi/whatever his name is, will totally Betray Prime Minister Ugly. It's so obvious it hurts. KIngdom's greatest weakness lies in the obvious and trope-laden writing, but that's always a bad thing! Just the thought of Ugly getting trapped in a sudden yet inevitable betrayal has me pumped with anticipation.

Are you guys saying Kingdom isn't popular?
wut.
It's one of the best manga I know of! Although the anime is a bit lacking. :/

I love the anime but im not that into reading manga or comics. I need the animation to keep my attention. That being said I'm also a fan of kingdom. I hope it gets a season 3. It is a very good story and better than most. I am not sure it is the lack of a fanbase but I think the CGI in the beginning of the anime made it lose support and not gain the attention it deserved. I doubt CR will get the Manga for their collection because they seem to be going with mainstream manga that has a huge fanbase to appeal to the most people.

It's pretty sad Kingdom doesn't get that many views. The manga is awesome and I feel the romance crap is what people are into these days.

Hey, romance can be good too.
It's in the top 50 manga on the site I normally use so I think it has quite a few readers.
Maybe I'll start the anime from season two. The main reason I was turned off from it was that crappy CGI you were talking about.
