I don't see Space Dandy on that list. Why don't I see Space Dandy on that list?

Crunchyroll didn't get SpaceDandy, that's why. Funimation and Toonami got it in North America, others got it elsewhere.

Seitokai Yakuindomo: Second season only.

It is the type show where it isn't required to view the first series to enjoy it. If you didn't know the first series existed, I seriously doubt you would be aware of it by watching this one.

That one is a rather strong, "No, they won't". Funimation not only has the series for simulcast, but will be dubbing it for broadcast, even before it airs in Japan (although not by much). Unless things have changed since the old days, having a broadcast license out of the gate essentially guarantees a license for a title will be profitable, and also gives a strong incentive to sew up exclusive rights.

Doubtful, as these are OAD's that are bundled with volumes of the manga. Even a company licensing a series for home video distribution rarely (if ever) gets those.

I know Funi has got the rights, but I wont watch English dubs. That is why I want CR to get it.

Funimation is going to be simulcasting a subtitled version on their own site (and very likely on Hulu, as well).

Yeah, but I won't be able to watch it in HD. I am guessing if I pay to be a member it will be in HD, but I am not going to sub to another anime site, especially one that has a smaller selection than CR. And eff Hulu. Never gonna pay for that ripoff.

If you're viewing on a computer, you don't have to pay for Hulu.

As for Funimation, while they don't get nearly as many simulcasts each season as CR, the size of the total library of both sites is closer than you might think.

They had upped their free trial to 30 days in December (possibly the reason CR later did the same), but as we are now in 2014, I expect that is gone. Too bad, as that would have given you at least 4 episodes in HD without cost.

Personally, I went with their 50% off Cyber Monday deal on a one year membership, which made the cost less than $4 per month.

Oh "Sorry, due to licensing limitations, videos are unavailable in your region.", how I haven't missed you. And just when these announcements looked to be going well for UK subscribers too.

As for Animax, their site is an ad infested train wreck which is incapable of streaming anything for more than a couple of seconds without buffering (not that I ever watch video on my PC) and they have no apps on any platforms, therefore they're a total irrelevance. "Other sources" win again it seems.

What's happening with Space Dandy? I gather the American rights have been bought by someone else - out of interest, why are anime rights usually exclusive? - but what about internationally? What are the chances CR will think of their non US subscribers and license what is apparently the hottest show of the moment for the rest of us?
