All alone, even my parents went out. Might as well watch some movies. This is my first new years alone and everybody else is either at a club or with families. Kinda depressing but whatever.

First off all HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Well i just had a stray piece of firework blow up like 4-5 meters away from me and now my left ear feels weird It feels like its closed up like when you have a cold and it feels like its glowing (warm) on the inside. Does anybody have any experience with this? does it even go away

It sounds like mild acoustic trauma, which I've also experienced. I suggest a warm compress against the affected ear, decongestants (to help relieve pressure in the ear), avoid getting water in your ear, and/or also trying to avoid loud noises for, at least, a few days. Your ear should heal on it's own without problems. I doubt that your ear is seriously injured, since it only feels congested and warm. In fact, it's likely that the symptoms will disappear altogether after a single night's rest.

I could celebrate with the rest of the people on downtown and wait for the orange ball to go up.
Meh. That's stupid. New Year has to start with a bang. And, it's done with fireworks... and blown appendages.

I'm staying in as well. I've never been a New Year's kinda guy. I remember playing with the fireworks and stuff back in the Philippines growing up (because that was a thing and still is according to my family back home) but that's the extent of my partaking in the celebration, so to speak.

In North America where everyone parties I guess I just feel like I can't be bothered to get wasted. Or stay up late.

Ah thanks for the advice, luckily i dont seem to have any obvious loss in hearing so thats good. I just called a doctor and they said it should be over in about 4 days but im still gonna go see my doctor this thursday. better safe then sorry .

I dunno. I think it's mostly young people in N.A who really party, and then it's only some of them who are really into that. I'm not into that sort of thing, myself.

True, but there are also some older folks who like to think they're young

In the city I live in (Vancouver) there's quite a large demographic that falls under the "let's get drunk" category.

Just waiting until midnight to start the new year off well with the family. Let's see: I watched the Sword Art Online Extra Edition earlier. I've enjoyed the latest news regarding the series and other simulcast shows that will air on Cr soon. Not to mention, I've catching up on some the anime that I've missed here on crunchyroll. Like Hajime no Ippo, Ruroni Kenshin and Arpeggio of Blue Steel. It's too bad that Kill la Kill, Naruto Shippudden, and Samurai Flamenco new episodes won't be available to watch New Year's Day here in the states. Those series are really entertaining. Plus, I just read through a swath of posts regarding support for watching anime subbed or dubbed here in the forums. I want to play some games on my Xbox 360. Later perhaps, maybe some Fruit Ninja Kinect or DOA 5 Ultimate provided I'm off from work tomorrow night as well. XD Happy New Year everybody!
