I listen to BigBang and Epikhigh all the time
in my classroom but, some people poke fun
at them when they try to rap or sing in english
&nd sometimes i think this is why they dont tour
here, which really upsets me because I really think
we the fans should suffer because immature and
racial HATERRSS.

They are better then American Rappers. I don't like American Rap, but I love Asian Rap. I'm sure they would be accepted by Asian music fans, just like all the rest of the Asian bands that come here. (:
Back-On came to Canada and they do a bit of Rapping, and I'm pretty sure almost everyone loved them (:

Well not to the americans.. but to asians in general yah... Asian rap is different from american rap because it is more bright and the lyrics have lots of meaning

Possible in time they would; it takes time for people to accept something new and foreign and have it grow on them. Asian residents there would probably like the prospect of having Asian rappers/singers debuting there but as with anything else, there will probably be some who oppose the idea of having foreign music. Depends on the individual =/

@ Your_Typical: Jin was great on BET Freestyle Fridays as a freestyle battler. But he failed miserably in the music industry. He had 2 music videos that came out mainstream that didn't make any waves; and his debut album after his BET appearance bombed. I don't even think he would've ever had a music video on tv ever if he didn't make it big with his freestyle battles on BET.

Asian rap can be catchy and, of course, Asians love it. But lots of guys that have heard me play it hear it and think it sounds okay but corny at the same time. Asian taste in HipHop is too different from the US. Asians want POP HipHop because all the money is in girls and guys liking the way the singer/rapper looks.

My friend once saw "Mutjaengishinsa" by YG Family and thought it was for gay people. What music video has a bunch of pretty boys, 1 adolescent, and practically no girls? It's like an oxymoron to the title since no player or "fine gentlemen" (as the rough translation is) would be having a sausagefest.

I think that asian entertainment is really starting to make a break through in the American market.
There are some really talented rappers from Korea and Japan in my opinion, but it's a matter of them being able to sell themselves in the American market, not whether they are good or not.

Plus, most Americans don't like listening to music that is not in English it seems, so that'd have to change too.

But I think with upcoming things like Rain gona be in Speed Racer that we can all hope for more asian hip hop and stuff in the west!!

oh and, it's been bothering me that people are saying "oh rap in the US sucks" because although some of it might, there wouldn't be rap and hip hop scene in korea etc without the influences from western hip hop.
For example Perry grew up in Oakland and his style is so oakland sounding, you'd think he lives there now! haha. so I don't think it's fair to dis american rap liek that, jsut because you might like korean hip hop better.
