I'm Black and to tell you the true when I heard other races rapping I was like shut-up. Tell I heard Epik High and how poetic and deep the lyrics are. I was like what are Black rappers writing about these days all it's about is sex and girls. So I'm ready for a change with lyrics that have meaning. Epik High GOOOO! America is use to Black=Rapping but with the right endorsement and publicity any asian artist can make it.

hmmm. i'm pretty sure they would, i mean latin/hispanic rap like reggaeton etc... have already been brought into the mix, so it'll just be a matter of time before america embraces asian rappers/singers. Just waiting for a big debut i guess. And Epik High, wow, what can I say, they're what started my love for Asian rap, they're brilliant. ^^V And for the record, only mainstream rap focuses on all the cliche sex, drugs, and money$money topics, if you ever get a chance to listen to some underground stuff, i'm pretty sure you'll find an appreciation for the lines they drop, such as Hiero & Magnetic North (who are asian btw) just to name a couple (:

im gonna say something that i just thot about. . .
b4 [which is like a minute ago] i used to think dat an asian artist like Bi, BIG BANG, DBSK, Se7en, etc. can never [well not really never] make it big in America. I know that i wasnt the only one thinking that. I read what ppl said about prejudice and what not. Also, i think that if asians cant even accept the fact that Asian artists will make it big in USA then what does that make us? i mean ddnt some of us [asians] say that they cant make it big bcuz of prejudice and what not. . . but is it really just bcuz of that?

also would americans accept asian rappers/singers? idk

but would we accept the fact that our most beloved groups/rappers/singers are tryna make it big in the USA? be honest. . . how would u feel if Big Bang or DBSK were to go on TRL and what not?

[idk i just thot about that...not meant to offend anyone.]

On the real, they probably could if they rapped in English. There are a lot of Asian Rappers in the U.S. that go unmentioned like Dumbfoundead, Traphik, and even D-Pryde. But the height of one's fame can only reach a certain level especially for rap. Think of a rapper who's had the longevity to match Jay-Z's or Eminem's.
In my minor opinion, race or ethnicity should never be used to sell music. A lot of asian rappers are quick to point out that theyre asian, while eminem hardly acknowledges his ethnic backround. Its one thing to be proud, another one to flaunt it.
But it all comes down to skill in the end.I mean, there are A LOT of rapper, what makes you any different? In my honest opinion, I think American rappers are and will always be the best rappers, because America is where rap started. A lot of people think rap is what you hear on the radio, but they play a lot of BS now, not all American rappers are about "Bitches and Hoes", come on now. Lupe Fiasco and Mos Def and Tech N9ne, Krs-One, AND Nas, all of them are pretty much master emcees.
Asian Rappers from Asia will do just fine in Asia, Asian Rappers who transition to America need to rap in English for the majority of their songs to reach any form of popularity. Same goes with European Rappers, South American Rappers, African Rappers, Alien Rappers, yadda yadda. Main problem is the language barrier for popularity.
I don't prefer any race or country or whatever over another, I appreciate talent and unique style, as all should.

JA NE!

I think they should try to listen first, then later they can decide. I think they'd love it.
