The big issue I had with funimation is their website.

granted that was roughly a year or so ago has the site got any more stable ?

Web-site: http://www.funimation.com/

A bit about them: http://www.funimation.com/about-us/anime

FUNimation® Entertainment is the leading anime company in North America. FUNimation has a proven formula for launching and advancing brands. We manage a full spectrum of rights for most of our brands including broadcasting, licensing, production, internet, and home video sales and distribution.

Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Funimation

Funimation is an American television and film production company based in Flower Mound, Texas. The studio is best known for its distribution of anime and other entertainment properties in North America.

Funimation began in 1994 by Gen Fukunaga and his wife Cindy as Funimation Productions, with funding by Daniel Cocanougher and his family, who became investors in the company. Funimation was sold to Navarre Corporation on May 11, 2005 and the company was renamed Funimation Entertainment. In April 2011, Navarre sold Funimation to a group of investors including Fukunaga for $24 million. Around the same time, the company's trademark ball, star & blue bar were dropped from its logo and the entity was renamed to simply Funimation. Funimation is a portmanteau of the English words fun and animation.

It's a company that licenses and distributes anime outside Japan. They do stream a bunch of their titles though.

Edit: Eh, didn't refresh the page for a few minutes.

This thread just feels rude to me (maybe it's the OP? Yeah...). Anyway, everything I wanted to say has already been said in some form or another so I got nothin'.

It feels as if this thread is an excuse to say: "Why use a legal service when I can watch illegal content for free (even though Funimation offers a free service) on the internet? Why should I care if one of the arguably biggest distributors of home video and streaming of anime in the West goes under?".

I don't know. I'm probably just irritated. I think my biggest gripe with anime is the community. Right now I feel like Misato whenever she has to deal with the people in her life.

I simply just desire a reason as to why I should like or at least care about this company. I want to see if any of you can change my mind. So far, no one has been able to do such a thing. You see, I am very hesitant to trust this company. After all, it is an American company and from what I have seen, American companies tend to be all about nothing but corporate greed and the such.

Their web-site is more stable. Finding and streaming shows is easier and the site loads fairly well overall, but their video encoding is terrible compared to the excellent quality here at Crunchyroll.

Hmm... I'm not sure how much anime on their site is available to Europe. I don't know how extensive their streaming rights are. I wouldn't sign up without asking them first. Their support page (http://www.funimation.com/support) has a form you can fill out and shoot them a question. CR user TheAncientOne is fairly knowledgeable on FUNimation matters. He might have some info for you as well.

You don't have to watch shows on Funimation. I won't give you any reason why you should care about Funimation either. Do what you want with your time when watching anime.
