l prefer my dubs in english. l refuse to watch British dubs. It's one of the reasons why Xenoblade wasn't as good as it could be.

Why would they dub it in an American accent?

But it is English, REAL English. The English you usually hear isn't even real English. It's just a slang version of it.

In the early days of the first anime boom in the end of the 80's and early 90's the companies distributing anime didn't have the pro dubbing companies they have now and a lot of them dubbed their own stuff. Anime dubbed with British casts has been done in the past. A lot of early anime i watched was actually done with British actors and it was for the most part cheesy and horrible. If there are some good British voice actors out there and there are because they do games and there are characters that would fit that sort of voice then great but a fully British dubbed anime is something i never want to see again.

Because it turns out like this.

Isn't that the reason why this thread started? because anime is typically dubbed in an American accent.

Lol not really helping the case. Some British voice actors are okay for the right roles but with all roles it just sounds silly. I watched a lot of anime with British voice actors years ago and most of them sounded awful.

I want to see Anime's that are dubbed in languages like Swahili, Tagalog, Vietnamese, and Arabic. If you want to know why, just because.

License by royalty was dubbed by British born VA'S. It worked very well. Because, it took place in England.

You prefer them in non-British English (as English is the language from England, which is part of the UK). Anyway I'm going to turn this around: I refuse to watch American English dubs. I can't stand American English; I'd rather listen to nails being dragged across a chalk board.

It's all subjective. I'm sure there are people who would dislike Xenoblade if it used American English.

Not that any of this matters that much to me, as I watch subbed anime.
