Generally; it's a mixture of no interest by the Japanese publisher, it being uneconomical, licensing agreements not being reached, and rival companies acquiring the rights.

For the UK it now seems to mainly be the last one. Which is rather annoying as all the other services are somewhat lacking. Wakamin is still partly in French and the system convoluted. Animax are like Crunchyroll, but the site is less well organised.

Wakamin's model does seem to give more to the publishers and creators. Animax has a fairly good selection, if somewhat dated. Both aren't as good as Crunchyroll.

Part of me wishes Crunchyroll got the lot, but then I think of why I dislike Steam. In the end, it's not great if one company gets the lot. What we really need is them to all work together to have one central portal with a uniform site design and apps. A bit like YouView, though the failure of SeeSaw puts doubts on big TV companies working together, let alone anime streaming companies. I don't have much faith in Animax and Wakamin.

It is quite irritating, hopefully stuff like one piece will eventually be brought over but until then, this is one reason I've cancelled premium.

Why? I don't know...because everyone hates the UK for some reason and because America gets EVERYTHING.
