Gundam Build fighters is kiddy, if you just want a fix of typicaly gundam fighting its not terrible but not good.

You forgot The last Gundam Unicorn movie/OVA/Whatever it is off you're list. That is something I absolutely cannot wait for, Unicorn is so unbelievably good, its 2nd only to Eva Rebuild 2 for pure mecha quality in my view.

Ah! My bad, I'll update the list with that! Thanks for mentioning it!

Man, I love Mecha anime. By looking at the list of anime so far, I'll probably end up watching them all. I just finished watching Valvrave the Liberator Season 2 and I need more mecha anime to watch. Looking forward to when these finally air.

I think the Mecha anime of 2014 are going to be a disappointment for the most part. There will be a couple of good ones, but it seems like the successes in 2013 spurred a, "Mecha is in again!" movement and a bunch of poor mecha anime popped up as a result. These will probably either have so-so animation quality, bad storylines, non-memorable characters, be just plain stupid, or some combination of all of the above.

I'll take a wait and see approach, but I'm not overly hopeful. I am looking forward to Gundam Unicorn finally finishing, of course, but I wouldn't lump that in with the rest since none of the general anime can compare. We're talking 1 - 2 years for 1~ hour of content with amazing soundtracks, animation quality, and voice acting that few tv anime ever get close to.

Yeah, that's the norm for felstalker stay away.. stay far far away.
In all seriousness though he does have a point, when it comes to mecha it pretty much comes down to taste and knowing your stuff..

Not everyone is a Gundam SEED fan for example it has its merits but in the end it's just a Gundam 0079 clone.
You would probably end up liking Gundam 00 or Gundam wing, they're not Yoshiyuki Tomino's work the original creator of Gundam but they're still good.
I also advise watching Blue gender, Broken blade, Full metal panic if you haven't.
And if you're still with me after all that i got many more recommendations for ya.

As far as i know he's only seen Gundam SEED and Gundam 00 which isn't nearly enough to judge the franchise, he will come to learn that eventually.

I think the Captain Planet jokes are the part I'm looking forward to the most.

I'm not a die-hard mecha fan but I certainly like the genre. What can I say, giant manned robots beating the shit out of eachother is pretty entertaining. I'll probably give most of these a shot, although I don't expect to like the majority of them.

It's a genre that tends to be pretty samey unfortunately, hopefully there are some fresh ideas in at least a couple of these shows.

I was hoping for a hotblooded sniper, wonder when this might take place.

Amen.
I wasn't into mecha that much two years ago just having seen super mecha titles such as G gundam, Gurren lagann, Evangelion, Aquarion with the exception of Blue gender.
But after i discovered the muv-luv trilogy that all changed for me and i began my journey with my blood pumping hot of oil, i can't get enough of mecha now.

maybe 60% aren't that good

Are you saying this aware of the 70's, 80's and 90's?..
