Just before 2013 ended I got a $385 electric bill and it left me with $20 to live off of for a week. I never had a to paid that much before and it freaked me out.

So for those of you that have bills to pay what's the most expensive one you've ever had? Was it at the worst possible moment like after the holidays?

I had a $3500 credit card bill over winter break once. I was still in high school and lots of expensive things broke all at once. I was chasing a few problems with my truck among other things and it basically depleted my savings at the time. I wasn't excited about that. As far as regular bills go, I got a $150 electric bill over winter break last year while I wasn't there. Apparently it costs twice as much to heat an apartment with no one in it than it does to live there (with appliances and lights on).

Most of my expensive bills were from last year between February and March.

In February, my brother was telling me, my car wasn't blowing out any heat. Noticed my coolant was disappearing, and had that check out. Turned out my water pump was cracked, and also installed a new wheel bearing, and got a wheel alignment done. That was $800.

A month later, I noticed I lost overdrive. So I spent $2600 to fix the transmission on my car.. They also noticed I had a broken sway bar and outer tie rod end, and a few other things. Which I think they broke when pulling the engine and tranny.

Even though I had money saved up for something like this, it still always sucks when things like that happen.

when i was 15 i had this verzion phone, completely brand new, obsolete and a dinosaur at the same time. well i didnt have an internet plan. The phone bill was about $ 3,000 DOLLARS but yeah im not saying what i was looking up though. HINT: IT WAS MANLY STUFF lol.

but 3 years later, this year, about September my little brother got and Iphone. well he got into our grandmother debit card for emergency funding savings blah blah blah she calls it many things. he registered it on the itunes and spent $11,763.75 on the store on in app purchases. yeah the irony here is HE IS WAS THE SAME AGE WHEN I MADE A MISTAKE ON A PHONE. not for sure if you would classify that as a bill but thought i should mention it anyways.

most expensive bill I ever paid was a visa bill that was close to around $7000... that month I had just put a downpayment on a motorcycle, I had also bought a s#it load of wood for my cousin to build me a fence and a shed, gas money was around $1000 I think, and I just had some service done to my truck too...

I didn't technically pay it, since my dad transferred the money to my account, but I paid off the 12-month lease for my apartment all at once. It was about $12,000. The first and last time I will ever see 5 figures in my bank account, most likely. It was a beautiful thing for the two weeks it lasted, though.

Now, I haven't had to pay my own living expenses yet, and I have a full scholarship for school, but the most expensive thing I, myself, have ever paid for is probably my $200 tablet. I am stingy with my money.
