They expect to have a sub version as the year goes on. Right now there are only 4 subs and all of the dub. I will watch it from the beginning when all of the subtitle version is out. :D

I'm not selling short the Japanese Cast, but I really enjoyed the English voice actors for this series.

It's a remake OVA of the New Kyoto Arc in OVA form...

It's horrible, don't watch it. They managed to fail in several important regards. Like dull animation, bad voice work, starting in the middle of a great story, and making the story boring as hell.

It's all "Government said this" and "I love you but Government that" and a lot of "The Meji Era shan't contribute to your unlawful ideal"

It's Avatar:The Last Airbender Movie type of bad. I'm talking all exposition with no real story. It's made for the fans, and the fans want more!

I agree it is terrible.

on another note, I don't follow.

stating that there is a ova and what arc that it covers isn't a spoiler. so why the tags? I am just curious. You think that there are people that have never seen it? Is that your thinking? I don't want to offend anyone, so I had better ask. Anyways, I went back to add a spoiler tag to it.

IT's to hide the quote within a quote to take up less space while still drawing attention to the fact that I'm quoting someone and not simply spoiling something.

Also, Rounin Kenshin Bloopers are amazing, anybody who has not seen them, should.

I can see they have all of the subtitled episodes.

http://www.crunchyroll.com/rurouni-kenshin

The first 27 are definitely available subtitled for free members

Thanks for letting me know, that was what I want to know. I am still learning Cr's Forum behavior. I am not here to offend anyone or spoil anything.

I wish CR would do this more. They focus so much on new releases, they ignore many of the old classics. It would be great to see some of the old classics in HD with proper subs.

Just wondering but are there major alternations between the sub and the dub versions?

I'm watching this show most likely this year when I have the time.

Have you ever seen it before?

Now, I've never seen the Sub of the original Dub, but it's standard 90's fair as I remember. Some things are localized and edited out, like Japanese writing on the back of someones shirt, and other things I hardly remember.

But the overarching show is still damn true to itself from what I remember. I'm unable to take the Aniplex dub seriously because they repeatedly call Kenshin "The Slasher" while the original stuck with "Battousai" which always sounded like the most badass name a Killer could have. The story goes on and on about how he used to be a killer, no need to use the English term slasher even if it makes more sense! Battousai just sounds flipping cool man. Like Death Note using Kira because English.

I rewatched only part of the Sub a while back...but it was the Aniplex Subs so take from it what you will. For all I know Crunchyroll is offering the Edited subs with the edited Dubs, or unedited both! I'll need to watch'em.

Now, if I could find Digimon in unaltered Japanese Subs, I would be fucking grapefruit. All I have is a bootleg copy of Digimon's first season! That was 4kid's editing, the bane of anime localization.

What I think is interesting is how they took the "villain of the week" formula and somehow kept it from getting too stale, I am on episode 42 and still finding it enjoyable.
