Finally got a chance to see the ep, I at least was greatly pleased with it, it was damn fun, and we got to see almost everyone, including good ol' Hanzo ><

PS: I end up doing this about once month, so sorry, but... could we keep 'dissapointed compared to the LN' stuff in another forum? It's both meaningless and a drag to non-LN readers.

But howsoever will they then be able to spoil the story for others due to not recognizing an anime adaptation may intentionally omit or rearrange narrative details for the sake of altering the story to a new format.

Or cloyingly reply with "not-Spoilers" which leave no alternative for understanding what is being "not-Spoilered" except that which is actually a spoiler?

I absolutely HATED this episode, the only thing done right was Masaki's Rupture and the reactions to it.

I'm with Cmorris32, they tried to cram too much into this episode. Miyuki's scene was literally converted into frames and for all intents and purposes ignored.

You are right they did try to put to much in, but damn they could have at least tried to do that scene some justice/cut something else out of the episode...argh

You make great points. We haven't really seen what the Yotsuba as a whole actually think of Tatsuya as a whole, besides fear/trepidation, outside of treating him with indifference mainly due to making him his sister's guardian. Well I wanted to read the Double Seven chapter again anyways so it works out. It might be that they have no designs whatsoever on Tatsuya anymore after he demonstrated his full power on Halloween. They might be relying on Miyuki and the military to rein him and are only concerned now on preparing for Miyuki's future and leaving it at that.

Too bad it's over. I was happy enough with the last episode. There were some oddities to say the least but it was enjoyable. Let's hope for a season two soon, although with sato now splitting time between two series, it may take longer to get the second year finished.

Episode 26 (Finale)

That's some handy magic that Tatsuya has, and with that his allies have infinite HP. Well, not exactly as he will feel the pain for a split second when he does use it. Once again, Tatsuya's crew can't be stopped as the man-eating tiger found out the hard way yet again. And of course, Tatsuya can do the impossible by first taking out that one vessel without causing an environmental disaster, and then the rest of the fleet in one fell swoop. That's a nice way to end this show even if it felt rushed.

Final Thoughts

Trying to evaluate this show as a whole is really tough considering that it keeps on swinging back and forth between really good and really bad, and it doesn't really hit its stride until about roughly halfway through. While Madhouse does a great job in the visuals and the technical aspects on this show, it didn't exactly do justice in adapting the source material. The Enrollment arc dragged out and that lost a good portion of the audience and it was endless info dumping. The Nine Schools Competition started out with heavy duty info dumping, but there was a lot less as the arc rolled along, and that's when the show begins to see a huge improvement. Then the Yokohama Disturbance arc has a lot of action and other interesting stuff that is where this show is at its best. The supporting cast is awesome, but criminally underused taking a backseat to Tatsuya's Gary Stuing. That said, while this show was tough to watch out of the gates, it does get much better and by the time the show ends, and I enjoyed it much better down as the show progressed, and I gladly look forward to the Visitors arc if a sequel does happen.

Grades (by arc): C- (Enrollment), B- (Nine Schools Competition), A- (Yokohama Disturbance)
Grade (Overall): B- (8/10)

Yes, it looks like they said there was going to be another season there at the end, so watch it until the end and make your guess. When that other season will be is the question now.

Lol only strong enemy during that entire conflict was the Tiger which took four of the magic high crew to take down without Tatsuya/Miyuki. Everything else was just sheer obliteration.

2nd season imminent with that cliffhanger. Show wasn't SAO popular, but popular enough that 2nd season is warranted.
