It *might* help if you can think of the siblings as a parody of normal people, and laugh it off... or it might make the annoyance worse. lol

Also Sacae, I agree with you about the sister... she's such a... doormat. I can't stand people like that. Learn to think for yourself for f***'s sake.

Sorry Sacae. xD I wasn't trying to turn you against the show or anything.

The thing you're missing is that some of us have read the manga, and that's where we are getting our "he's a gary stu" conclusions from. :)

Shouldn't you be talking about that in the manga forum then? Don't want to read that sort of discussion here, if you're talking about things that haven't happened in the anime.

To /that/ degree though?

I had an older brother too, I was not a doormat for him.

Were not talking about the manga though, we're not even talking about things that haven't happened yet. You asked where we were getting our conclusions on the characters and I told you.

The sister probably can't pee unless her brother nods at her. xD I kinda doubt that Iashakezula was that adoring of their brother. lol

Yeah, I think this sort of relationship with siblings is fairly normal, for me at least. In my family we've always had a sort of unspoken hierarchy between parents and siblings from the oldest down.

Its hard to explain...

we were pretty close but I am sure I was the only one who think that way towards him but I can recall I did seek his approval a lot but not to the point about what I wear or eat lol and i also remember talking like a little little kid

In terms of writing, the sister's character is probably a byproduct of Tatsuya's. That sort of deference to the protagonist, while rather extreme in this case, fits into the power fantasy behind Mary Sue/Gary Stu stories. If the author had made Miyuki a brilliant, independent young woman, she'd be stealing Tatsuya's spotlight instead of adding to it.

It's one of the possible byproducts of having this kind of protagonist.

Dang it bringing back the MC is flawed! I was hating on the sister!

Kidding.

So....you guys have no hope in liking the MC?

Wait - so do we still like this show?

lol people are confusing me now - fuck my lack of sleep.

I agree with this, Tatsuya's Stu-ness is something that can't be discussed without talking about the manga... until it get's revealed in the anime at least. Also it's spoilers.

I'm liking the anime though, don't get me wrong, but I still dislike the siblings.

Sacae: It depends on how he is presented in the anime, so far he is no different than his manga-version.

Is it possible to dislike the main character and like the show?

I mean, you cant root for them in their fight then can you?

Yea, I have read some of the LN, and I keep forgetting what total a CREEP his sister is. I really hate the incest route. Seriously, you guys are disliking her for all the wrong reasons.

Still, Madhouse is doing a great job with animation and the soundtrack, I like it a lot.

To your first post (which I didn't quote), I like to use the term "Insertion fantasy". It sounds dirty too, which is a bonus.

~~~
About the sister, it's kind of weird... I feel like it's better that they're not pretending. She's not a "STRONG AND ASSERTIVE FEMALE CHARACTER!!!!!!" who falls to pieces whenever her man is around, she's a somewhat weak support character. At least they're not insulting my intelligence with it ><
I'm having fun with it. Knowing what kind of protagonist we have in this case also fills you in on what form the story will take, so as long as I don't try to make it into something it's not I can still enjoy it as long as the themes pull through.
