We've seen plenty of tsunderes in anime, but I've really haven't seen many kuuderes (at least that I can think of off the top of my head) Can you think of any characters that would fall under that category?

Probably Nagato Yuki from Haruhi
Charlotte "Tabitha" Gallia from Zero no Tsukaim
a

and I'd probably say Kiss-shot "Shinobu" heart-under-blade (Can't remember full name) from Monogatari.
All of them are cold at first but show sweetness later on although I only have a brief understanding of Kuudere.

Edit; A very recent anime I watched which was Midori no Hibi or Midori Days Takako Ayase

Homura from Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica is probably one of the easiest to think of.

I'd argue that Nagato is a dandere. Kuuderes have more of an "ice cold bitch queen" exterior.

Tsundere: forceful exterior.
Kuudere: cold exterior.
Dandere: shy exterior.
Yandere: crazy psychotic.

Senjougahara from the Monogatari has hit every one at some point in the series.

To answer the title, they're not too common, but not as uncommon as true yanderes.

It probably goes: Tsunderes > Danderes > Kuuderes > Yanderes.

Kongou of Arpeggio of Blue Steel would fit the description.
Layla Hamilton from Kaleido Star
and MAYBE Soifon from Bleach, but she might be a little more to the Tsundere than Kuudere, but she's a cold character.

But, outside of the Homura and Senjougahara who were already mentioned, that's all that comes to mind. Oh, and Lulubell from D-Gray man. Cold, but had a soft spot for her sidekick, Mimi (I think that was her name). I also forgot to mention Satsuki Kiryuin from Kill La Kill. She's another cold hearted/strict kind of character, but shows mercy to her Elite Four.

I wanna help. So I'll do my best to avoid saying any that's already been said.

Misaki Mei from Another.
Kusunoki Yukimura from Haganai.
Kirigiri Kyouko from Danganronpa.
Nishizono Mio from Little Busters.
Minakami Mai from Nichijou.

Few other thoughts but I think they're closer to being "shy" and an emotionless facade rather than "cold" and an emotionless facade.

Ones that haven't been mentioned that I believe to be a Kuudere:

-Tobiichi Origami (Date A Live)
-Mahiro Shiina (Pet Girl of Sakura Hall)
-Yukino Yukinoshita (Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatterieu)
-Felli Loss (Chrome Shelled Regios)
-Mizore Shirayuki (Rosario to Vampire)
-Nozomi Kiriya (Mayoi Neko Overrun!)
-Athena (Campione!)

I could be wrong about some of them, but whatever these were the ones I could think of in like 10 minutes.

What do y'all consider Yukihira from Noucome? Could she be a kuudere? Her exterior is a pretty icy cold hearted bitch.

I don't know about the others, but Mashiro is way too affectionate. She's more of a Rei or Nagato, which puts her more into dandere territory. She's more "distant" than "cold" in terms of her personality.

Point taken, I looked it up and it does seem like it, it has been awhile since I've watched it so my memory is a little fuzzy about these things.
