I just hope I don't get anything non Japanese. I honestly don't care about Star Wars stuff. I was guessing the items were going to be anime/manga/Japan related...

Wow lucky...I wanted to get the AmiAmi one but they sold out super fast both times :(

But I'll reside with the Crunchyroll one....hopefully something good

I'm usually always awake when they start adding new stuff to the site, so I can usually get dibs on whatever comes around.

They convert it for you with whatever form of payment you choose, although you have to figure out the amount beforehand, as they don't give you a converted figure. Rough estimation is about a penny = 1 yen. I had a 25,710 yen order that converted to I think $245.45.

For a fee. Probably is cheaper than your average currency conversion place though.

I need to look into http://www.xe.com/ more.

exchange rate right now is so good though. I almost went to japan last year, but things are looking way better if I happen to have time to go this year.

I could always trade you! Hah

Paypal conversion to the "famous" country's currency is cheaper (sometimes cheapest) than some banks. But for those tiny country's you'll be paying a huge fee.

Ok so just to get something straight. I just placed an order for three items, but two of the items are being released late January so the total is still to be determined. When the two items come in stock, i assume they will email you to request payment. Now here is the thing, am i able to add my bank card to my PayPal account and pay with that? And if not, what steps should i take to pay for my items via PayPal?

Yes, they email you, and give you 7 days to pay. Never used Paypal, but you can use your bank card and skip Paypal fees if you opt to use it. But I warn you, and this is where CR will trump any other site. International shipping on some of these orders is outlandish.

US $190 order, $65 in shipping.
$165 order, $45 in shipping.
$200 order, $62 in shipping.

Unless they're smaller items the shipping could be pretty expensive, so prepare yourself for extravagant shipping fees just in case. Oh how I wish CR didn't charge up front, but I digress.

I want to see what people got too. I'm a sucker for buying stuff for my collection, so I'll probably see these pics and regret my decision to withhold on my purchase.

I would just use my bank card, but it doesn't have Yen on it so that's the reason i am using PayPal (unless there is another to change my U.S. to Yen better).

My order came up to 5,800 Yen so not that much. I just wonder how high the shipping will be...it's only a 1/7 figure and two badges.
I also choose EMS. I hope that was a smart decision lol

Use the bank card, it'll convert automatically and charge your bank US conversion for it. Just use Google to find a currency converter (Japanese Yen of course) to get the rough estimate of how much it'll charge your card. 5800 will convert to a few bucks less, something like 54 or 55 probably, but conversions change daily if I'm not mistaken, but that'll ballpark it.

EMS is the most expensive (I think it'll run you 1200 yen for the smallest package, but a figure will probably bump that to 18 or so), but you get tracking (and insurance) for it, which you'll want. It's subpar compared to normal US tracking but it's better than nothing. You get to see when it hits the export office, when it touches down in the US (always touches down in JFK if I'm not mistaken), then add a couple days to get to you to be delivered via the USPS.

Here's where it gets a bit tricky though, and again where I'd take CR because I hate the extra steps I have to take. EMS requires signature to receive it, so if you're not home you have to either go get it or have it redelivered. A bit of a pain since FedEx or UPS will leave it at your door or take it to a leasing office or what have you. You'll appreciate it if things go bad though, my last order wasn't delivered normally so it wasn't as smooth as normal. Still got it, but got grief from the USPS because they listed it as delivered when it was taken to the carrier facility.

EMS is generally the fast cheap method. Like if I am ordering from china and I dont care the speed, I will get it slow boated and wait a month to get it... EMS is more like 2 weeks max, generally 1 week. Beyond that you can fedex/dhl/ or perhaps another service for different costs. If you plan to make future purchases I would recommend setting up an account with fedex or something and you can get shipping a little cheaper.

Also, from the CR store manager:
