I Couldn’t Become a Hero, So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job.

Fan service with a smile!

What would happen if a hero in training never got the chance to become a REAL hero? What if Satan was already defeated by someone other than Rin in the “Blue Exorcist”? What would become of Naruto if there was no villain to fight or peace to keep? The result would be, Raul Chaser and his friends in the hero program. On the eve of graduation, the hero program is shut down due to the Demon Lord’s defeat by another hero, which leads to longest anime title, “I Couldn’t Become a Hero, So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job” or as known in Japanese, “Yu-Sibu.”

Following the closure of Hero school, Raul goes into depression for six months. When he emerges from his apartment, all jobs that require his unique skill set are taken! With no options left, he must resort to selling goods at an electronics magic shop named, “Leon.” Fino, daughter of the Demon Lord, is by mere coincidence, a co-worker of Raul. She is, in fact, the true star of the show with her naïveté, innocence, and her upbeat personality. Since she comes from the Demon world, she has a habit of bringing up creepy and demented topics to customers, causing them to flee with haste! Although, Fino does this with a good heart and best intentions, she is unaccustomed to humans. Take my word, you WILL love her!

There are parallels to “Wagnaria,” as they both center on the customer service sector; but “Yu-Sibu” takes more of an ecchi/fan service route. An example would be a old man in a red shirt, a repeat customer to Leon, who loves to “feel up” female employees mini skirt! Another would be a tentacle action scene involving the girls (of course) of the show and some clothing articles being shed.

Harem anime are mostly hit or miss. The female cast has to be just as likeable, if not more so, than the protagonist. Fino, will most assuredly draw you in with her loveable laugh (Ha Ha Ha Ha!), while the other girls fill their roles nicely as eye candy for to enamor. There are plenty of jiggling boobs, panty shots, and double entendres to satisfy most of the audience. Yet for others it may be a bit overbearing.

Personally, I loved “Yi-Sibu” much more than I ever thought I would,. I craved a great harem show, but could never find one. My recommendation would be to give it a chance, as it’s definitely a guilty pleasure. Our other harem/comedy simulcast, “Infinite Stratos 2,” will excite and “I Couldn’t Become a Hero, So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job” will delight!

I was reading this, and I was thinking "The author better make talk about Fino's laugh" Thanks for not disappointing! Also very well written. It was a pretty funny anime and I enjoyed it a lot.
