Can you survive a day without Internet!

I grew up in the woods and spent a lot of time camping in Boy Scouts as a teenager. I always felt really at peace out in the woods. Most people don't ever really know what it's like to be sitting on a log around a nice big camp fire you built yourself on a spring or summer evening while millions of stars twinkle above your head. There's a sort of calmness that falls over me when I'm in that environment. It just feels natural.

I've considered moving out to a cabin or even up to the middle of nowhere in Alaska on multiple occasions, but the main issue is that my way of living has become dependent on the internet. I literally cannot work unless I have a stable internet connection, which I wouldn't get in the middle of the woods.

And even then, I didn't grow up as a hunter and I lack many of the skills and knowledge that would be required to live that sort of life.

But, to answer the original question... yes, I can survive a day without the internet. If push came to shove and I had no choice in the matter, I could absolutely go without the internet. If I could live on a ranch or something and make a living 30+ miles from the nearest town surrounded by horses and cattle I totally would.

If Wifi went down for good I would invest into companies that make Ethernet cables. Maybe start my own Ethernet cable manufacturing company.

If the internet went down it would most likely have the same outcome of a post-apocalyptic world. I would just hide in my "Vault" the rest of my life with all my books.

I'd probably spend the entire day napping and arting. And arting is pretty time consuming, too.

I've had to go without internet for two weeks recently, though I did know beforehand I'd have to, so I got a couple visual novels to pass the time with. If I had to do it again, I'd do the same.

If the internet up and vanished for a day or two, I'd definitely be distressed about it, but it wouldn't be overly difficult to find something else to do. I live with four other people my age who, since we share an internet connection, would also be bored, so we'd probably end up doing some sort of group activity.

Sure. I've gone on vacation for to weeks without the internet, and I can do it again. It's not my life.

I frequently don't get on the internet for 2-3 days just because I end up busy or don't feel the need. I have knitting, I have single player video games, I have cable, I could write, I could laze about. I like communication with people, foruming, and blogging, but it doesn't consume me.

Yes, but the real question is: Do I want to spend a day without the internet?

I often spend a designated day or weeks without using the internet just so i don't lose my touch with the real world. So I would pretty much survive not the i require internet to live.

yes because it's happened (power outage) so I know I can. Better question is would I want too? "HELL NO!"
If it happened for a long period of time I could probably easily adapt to something else to take its place. Our parents did right?

The only thing I would miss is CR and instant access to anime. I don't mind using a phone book, and I don't care for social networking sites. I wouldn't be able to download music, so that would suck. But yes, I would be fine without internet. My wallet would be pissed though. I would have to buy all the anime at Rightstuf over the phone and I would have to pay retail for music. And that would be very, very expensive.
