I will definitely at one point in time since I actually know quite a few people who have been there and recommended it.

It's on my list of must-visit places. I'm planning to go with a travel company and wander all over Turkey.

I probably will, but preferably not when it's too hot.

One of these days, yes, hopefully, before I die or get too senile/infirm to travel. I'd personally be interested in all the historical sites, and especially from the Roman era. Food is also 50% of the fun when travelling (I think so, anyway), and while I've frankly no real idea what Turkish food is currently, one of these days I hope to find out!

My father went a couple of months ago with his girlfriend. He certainly enjoyed the sights but the highlight of the trip according to him was the bazaar and the food, despite the fact he was attacked by shopkeepers as he's like 6'4" and thus a clearly noticeable American lol.

But he also said to me that alot of the Turkish people seem to look kind of drab and dress in drab colorless fashions.

I'd consider going after I go somewhere semi-liberal in the Arab world like Kuwait or Jordan I think. Thing is I've been to Israel before, which is another Mediterranean/mideast country which has alot in common with Europe culturally (as does Turkey to a similar extent from what I can gather). I'd thus like to get a broader picture of the region before I go there.

Definitely would like to go some time. Would love to see the culture there in person, and maybe try one of their infamous ice cream stands. lol

And thanks for getting the song stuck in my head.

If I could afford it, I would love to go just for the history and the culture. That would be so worth it!

No.

I don't appreciate the Turkish history either, or what they did to the Armenians.
