I'm the youngest of 2 and I never really got much of anything, my older sister got pretty much anything she wanted, but, now that I've got a job and money I can pretty much do whatever I want.

Bro would get lots of cars and a new bike every year. I only got 1 bike when I was 11 and there was the time I got an electric car that had a doll attached to it. In our family girls got all the dolls (bro's super hero doll and sports figure doll the exception). Since bro couldn't use his stuff 24/7. I'd swipe a car or two and commandeered his bike sometimes. He wasn't one for sharing so no point in asking.

My little brother is 55 and we never worried about what the other received which usually amounted to a kick in the pants from our parents.

My brothers/sister and I were born in a family where we never got such luxuries. Our parents only gave us the necessary (food, school supplies, clothes) because they thought that if we wanted something we don't really need, we had to work hard for it and it wasn't going to purchased with their money.

So, all of us work since we were 15-17 and we all buy our own stuff.

Middle child. I've mostly supported my own hobbies and wants. I don't want much though. My dad sometimes gets me stuff. If I need something, like a laptop for college or clothes, I'll get it, but not wants so much.

Nope. My adoptive side were hand me down types so we all generally had the same things except occasional new clothes. My adoptive side had money but I was "the other one" so I preferred to pay for my own things whenever I could. Minimised conflict.

Never had this problem since I am an only child. Though all I need in life really is CR and I'm happy. Scratch that, I need Manga as well or I'll like.... die.

No, never had that issue. I'm the oldest of 4 siblings, and there have been times where my parents have noted that my siblings were given things I was not, but I never cared. I never really asked for much of anything. From the age of 10 and beyond, I started working, so I would get my own things. Typically, I didn't want my parents to get me things, though that was more because my mom would get me clothes I didn't like and make me wear them, even though I bought the clothes I did like.

I have one older half brother and then 3 younger siblings. The older brother didn't live with us very long, he prefers to visit from time to time so I am really the oldest child in the house but the youngest who is 7, my younger brother, gets almost everything he asks for. It wasn't like that a while back but I guess once you've had four kids you tend to let up on the rules so I don't really have any harsh feelings or anything

i think it's wonderful that they were able to provide you with the things you really needed. My family was the same. We may not have had any electronics or anything fancy but we always had enough to eat and a roof over our heads.

People who whine about not having things like computers and ipads and cars and the like really need a reality check.

I used to have a sister.... She didn't live with us. Even if she did, I don't care if she was to get anything over me, she was my sister and still is even if gone. As long as she is happy that is all I cared about.

I have an older brother, and as a kid, I felt that he got everything he wanted, while I got nothing. I remember him getting so many games consoles and other expensive stuff, where I felt like I hardly got anything from my parents. I didn't get my first games console until I was 11, whereas he got his when he was 8. I got my first phone sometime last year, and he got his when he was 12. I've never had an iPod, and I don't even have my own laptop(I have to share). He was a good brother, yeah, but I was still jealous.
Nowadays, I don't really care. I get my own money now, so I don't really ask for anything from my parents unless it's really expensive. My brother also has a job, so he gets tonnes more money that me, and spends in on loads of (useless, sometimes) stuff. Hell, he's even got a car now. Am I jealous? No. I could not care less.
I guess it's just an age thing. As you grow up, you start to realise what's important to you, and you kinda forget about the trivial things. If I can watch anime in peace, that is all I really care about.

...well, that was long. lol.
