I prefer Eastern storytelling over western and European. Not to say it's superior, often the best stories combine traits of both eastern and western, but western storytelling is very...repetitive to me.

What kind of reasons are these? Why do they all carry negative connotations?

Other: Because I enjoy storytelling, and anime happens to be one of the medium that does that very well.

It doesn't suck like "reality TV"! I prefer watching something with a story and character development than bullshit like duck dynasty or the stupid F'n housewives of some F'n place I don't give a F about!

Good Sci-Fi requires a big budget, as such not many series on tv.

Note: There are a few great ones

Dr. Who for example

But with Anime, you can do a great Sci-Fi story that looks good

BTW Mecha Genre FTW!

Also anime has better music than the crap I hear on the radio (unless I turn to what is now "classic" rock....goes off to corner and sulks that the music I listened to in high school is now called "classic")

I watch anime because I wish reality was how it is in animes. Like dayum seriously i'd much rather live in the village hidden in the leaves than in the suburbs. I know right.... Ninjas risk lives literally and I don't know what that's like. But i'd rather say be a ninja like in Naruto. Rather than just working coming home and repeating.

^that and cause I got free time

Anime is unique and different. It's not all boring cops shows or witty sit coms. Anime has such a wide variety and you can do almost anything with anime. There are no boundaries that live actions shows have.

Anime kind of is a get-away for me. If I'm feeling sad I'll watch anime and instantly feel better.
Also, it's just straight out awesome. I never get bored of anime and always feel like watching it no matter what.

I get attached to the characters with ease. In everyday life I meet many people but only on few occasions do I get attached or like/appreciate these people. The girls are beautiful and are very nice ahaha something you do not see in real life. When watching anime all your troubles float away and you feel apart of the show, you feel good.
Japan has a very beautiful culture and anime often gives us a taste of it. School clubs are something I never got to experience and students in Canada are not respectful. I am the only one to wait for the professor to finish speaking before packing up and I find that very rude.

I can connect to it, and it brings a lot of my inner emotions out. When im feeling down, anime brings me back to life. It also makes me contemplate a lot of things, and makes me question the world. Plus, a lot of the people in anime are better than people in real life. Most TV shows suck and present an unrealistic approach of idealism upon its viewers, something that anime does not do.
