On the PS3 CR app, when I log in with my account and it is a premium account...SD content will be SD and 480p content will be 480p. However, what about HD stuff? I know the PS3 CR app only goes up to 720p. But if I watch a HD anime show on PS3 CR, will it automatically select 720p, or will it be 480p by default and I have to somehow choose 720p?

I'm pretty sure if you want it in HD you have to be running your ps3 to your tv through a HDMI cable, not your standard white, red, and yellow SD cables

Oh, it is hooked up with HDMI. Thanks for the input, though. Those SD cables you are talking about are called composite cables, by the way.

The PS3 app is supposed to autoselect the highest available resolution, based on your internet speed (much like the mobile apps).

Thanks for the info. When I watch on my ps3 I usually get from 720p go down to 360p. Looks really nice on 720p.

Thats not true, the ps3/ps4 does not even adjust to your internet connection everything is played automatically in hd. The app is terrible on consoles, hulu, netflix, neon alley, and much more apps do a better job at streaming based on your connection speed, crunchyroll failed terribly at that. So I don't know who they hired for that but they should be fired by now, because the app hasn't gone through a update in a while.
