Hunger Games
Because I like the storyline better. Don't get me wrong, I love vampires, but it highly depends on the story. And Hunger Games has more action IMO, therefore I choose Hunger Games. Btw, both movies had their perfect and horrible scenes!
Hunger Games: 8.5/10
Twilight: 7/10
I can't say anything about the books since I haven't read Twilight.

Twilight is just awful fap material for those that read yaoi and all that crap. I have nothing against masturbatory fantasies, except I don't enjoy other people's fantasy and don't laud my own as works of excellent fiction.

I prefer the Hunger Games to Twilight though I did find that some of the concepts in Twilight were rather interesting- some of the stuff about the wolf shape changers, and the vampire powers- just presented in a terrible way.

And with the Hunger Games, I didn't read Mockingjay, I'll probably see both parts at some point but I just didn't like the way it was heading. I think the first book would have been much more powerful if the sequels didn't jump almost immediately into a rebellion... so basically it was the ending of Catching Fire that made me lose interest in reading it.

Though I do question the authors decisions in other things too. Mostly involving Katniss. Katniss feels like a flat character with no emotion to me, and while I do enjoy the story... she was really just a foible for the other characters... And her only talents include archery and survival. Seriously, she couldn't do any of the hobbies she tried? People do have more than one talent.... *shakes head* Over all though these are a bit more minor than the complaints I have about Twilight.

Bella is a total Mary Sue... Because the author went so far to imply that she was normal and not special and yet still had all those things happened to her. Edward was a creepy stalker. If I found out my boyfriend kept coming just to spy on me sleeping without me knowing, I'd find it creepy. On the other hand, the times he's turned up at my house to hang out and didn't want to wake me it wasn't creepy because I knew he was coming. I tend to be upset he didn't wake me sooner actually. And some of that stalking happened before they even started dating if I recall correctly (and I may not it has been years since I read all four books after all). Bella was whiny and Edward always gave into her. Now I admit that even I try to get my own way in my relationship, but I tend not to whine about it, and if my boyfriend remembers to fully say no, I let it drop, especially if he chooses to explain his side and we come to an understanding. Yeah, not much of that with Bella and Edward. And Bella's reasoning for wanting to become a vampire at that time was rather shallow. She wanted to still be a teenager like Edward... Really? I'm nearly 21 and I still look a bit like I did when I was 18. I just changed my hair and that's about it.

I like both series and have seen/read all the books and movies (so far). The Hunger Games has one final installment due out next year and I'm excited to see it. I think Jennifer Lawrence really brought the character to life through the films. I don't hate Kristen Stewart but she just didn't act very well in the Twilight films.

Personally, I think twilight is a pile of crap not worth the paper it's printed on, whereas The Hunger Games is an amazing read and can really hit you right in the heart at certain points.

I find the Hunger Games to good, but not great. Nonetheless, it was an enjoyable read and the story was interesting and riveting (it was only the writing style that kept me from getting hooked - I found it a little too simple, but that's just my opinion as an extreme bookworm.

That being said... I read Twilight in grade 12 to see what all the hype was about. I read all four books in 4 days. I will never read them again, and I can't say I've ever read anything that made me shudder so much. The characters, in my opinion, are not well developped. The writing style and vocabulary is repetitive and mundane. The story was rather predictable in many ways - although, I admit that I was completely caught off guard by sparkling vampires.... how ridiculous..... And the main character, Bella... well, I think she's a shame to all female lead characters. Not to be harsh, obviously some people love Twilight and that;s cool and all... but since you're asking for opinions and such, Twilight = blegh.
