3. No one seems to get confused as to who you are referring to when you say it (except for those being purposely obtuse).

4. Do you get upset at people in the Commonwealth of Australia for calling themselves Australians? After all, they aren't the only country that has territory on the continent of Australia.

I have to admit that i was a little bit jealous about the situation regarding simulcasts in the USA all the time. And now it makes me kind of sad to see as some few people don't realize their fortunate position.

So please be a little bit more satisfied. I'll be trying, too.

Hopefully some day in the near future region restricting comes to an end and every title is avaiable worldwide (with english and other subtitles).

Or historically grounded ~ the other countries were colonies at the time that the US gained its independence and called itself the "United States of America". Along with the French Revolution, that was a big part of the inspiration for many of the independence movements in the New World.

Ozzies often call us Yanks, though since my home state and my ancestors were in the Northern side of the Civil War, that didn't bother me too much. But it really annoys some Southerners.

be strange if uk permitted and its in French and German sub only

Probably Animax UK ~ there are 9 series that are blocked in the UK already, and looks like a 10th, which looks like Animax UK is picking up their pace, with the same "block Crunchyroll subscribers in the UK" strategy that Anime-On-Demand was using, but with the deeper corporate pockets of Sony/Animax behind it.

... a company that's not based in that country should not be able to buy rights to other country rights if there not willing to show it in that country.

It is true that the EU has not established an "economic union" as far as media rights.

The long term solution is for anime production committees to move toward non-exclusive rights for all international simulcast licensing, so that a home video distributor picking up the rights for one country or language region does not block simulcasts in other parts of Europe.

What kind of waste would that be? The number of slots in the line-up are decided by the number of contracts signed ... the simulcasts are self-funding, so picking one up does not "prevent" picking any other one up.

Wait, what? New Caledonia split off from the continent of Australia something like 60 million years ago.

Good work CR, I really appreciate it you provide No-Rin at least to some other countries even while you couldn't fully acquire the rights in the English-speaking regions.

Maybe I'll give it a try. It's time to brush up my French/German I guess.

EDIT: As an American, I figured that we wouldn't get this at all, but since Crunchyroll is an international site, I'll cheer for CR expanding availability to other nations.

but you have got it FUNI got it

and being funi got all English rights and FUNI not in the uk kinda suffocated the mane homeland of English

I should clarify, I mean not on Crunchyroll here in the U.S. But yes, UK being left out sucks.

And yes, I am aware that it is legally available on Funimation here in North America(which is not the same as geographic North America which clearly includes Mexico).

Really thats sucks manually tracking what episode of an anime I last watched isn't nearly as convienent like everyone else had no choice before with fan subs. But now Crunchyroll and Netflix have spoiled me in that regard with there queue option when it comes to watching anime and shows most convienent way to watch imo especialy if you watch alot like me.

You'd think Funi and Anime Network would get their act together and implement a queue function. I use both sites - mostly to watch Sentai and Funi dubs, not usually for simulcasts though.

They defintenly had more then enough time to do so. I'm suprised funimation site isn't up to par on this regard seing how big of big of player they are in the anime licensing industy in the U.S they should have the resources for it and there still making a small but consistent stand against CR for simulacast. Never used there site so don't know anything about them but I assume at least the player and service is decent enough to enjoy and be worth paying for. I only really want to subscribe to Tan and Funi for there anime backlog so I can marathon a few series I really want to see that are on there. As long as I can get at least 720p anime with minimal glitches or streaming problems and no ads I'm happy.

Imagine if the south had not lost our civil war. Then there would also be a Confederate States of America. While they (our we, since I was born in what would be the CSA) could easily have been referred to as "Confederates", we might have well taken to also asserting we were "Americans".

The continent of Australia includes Papua New Guinea, Papua, West Papua, Maluku Islands, Timor, and Halmahera.

For us America is not a single country but a continent wich include North America, Central America and South America. Also in Spanish people from USA are not called as americanos but as estadounidense and americano is anyone from the American continent. For that reason Latin Americans are often upsets when you call americans yourself.

We call the Australia continent as Oceanía.
