There has been a long standing theory amongst the Naruto fanbase as to the identity of Madara/Tobi/Masked guy, so it doesn't come as a great surprise to even me (I hadn't watched/read the series in about a year). That doesn't change the fact that I don't want one of the biggest spoilers in the series at the top of the front page of Crunchyroll in an alert box.

Who would possibly think that this was a good idea? Well done Crunchyroll.

Sucks for the people that saw this. I can't say I care too much about this in particular because I've never been a fan of Naruto, but I can say that if someone spoiled the ending of something like Steins;Gate after I watch the first episode, I would be pissed. On a related note, I've seen that certain episode descriptions spoil what happens in the episode, instead of giving a brief sentence or two of context, and if spoilers like the Naruto one above are going to be fixed, than these episode spoilers also should be.

They've been posting spoilers, or at least what I consider spoilers, in those alert banners longer than I would like. I came to the page one too many times and yelled at CR for telling me what the big twist is in whatever newest episode is available, but they seem particularly fond of doing it for Bleach (when it was airing) and Naruto. I got into the habit of forcing my eyes to stare at the URL bar in my browser and navigating to the 'x' on the bar so I could close it, paging down, or just going straight to my queue. Once I close it the bar doesn't show back up anymore until I log back out.

Orrrrr you could read the manga like 98% of the Naruto fans and be way further ahead. This stuff happened like 1.5 years ago man.

Meh, I don't ever go to the Homepage of Crunchyroll, my homepage of crunchyroll is the group section. So, I don't normally see this kinda stuff, like ever. But, yeah. I do agree that this was a huge spoiler move on Crunchyroll's part
