Hahaha xD,
But in all honesty it might not, but the fan base of anime is still hugely dominated by hetero-males, so companies will always go for profit if they can.

Yaoi is a too hard pass of a market in an already too of a niche market. Probably introducing more side Yaoi stuff in the mainstream will spark something up. I am interested in seeing something in this genre if it piques my interest enough, but the availability, as I mentioned, is bleak at best at the moment. It hasn't generated as much interest to the point of profiting more heavily. It'll probably comes either as a "shock" move or a side project but most likely not a big budget one that everyone will unanimously love.

Well, let's see.

we get it that you only want big breasted female character fanservice type of animes, don't need to see anymore of those type of comments.

As much as I love big tats and voluptuous females, and of course I do, those are the kind of shows that I'm actually passing for the last couple of years. My goodness, half the time there are half exposed breast flopping around in zero-G. If I want to get stimulated in such a way, I might as well watch some H and such. At least then, the audience aren't cack teased to buying products like "stress relief jelly toys" of certain characters who aren't supposed to be like so.

I was honestly expecting a female yaoi fan but seeing a male one is even better.

isn't there already yuri and incest anime on this website, might as well throw in yaoi plus why is yaoi any worse than near-naked big boobed women floundering around on the screen for 25 minutes and making up 90% of the show's entertainment

I don't have any objection. My question though would be that CR licenses simulcasts, when's the last time there's been a yaoi anime for them to license? I don't think I've ever seen one on an anime chart that I can remember.

I also don't watch much shoujo though, so there could be ones I just skipped right over and didn't even notice.

(Also, all the hetero-posing in this thread is hilarious.)

Because it's easier to yank, by yank I mean profit, it to bloodcest, boobage, and hot girl on girl action. "LAWL"

But seriously, it's more to the sense of marketability. I don't think that crunchyroll has any reservations for actually casting Yaoi with the exception of the risk of not getting back their return as projected. It's a safer bet for the site to wait it out until that Triple A Yaoi title to come out to ride the wave.

I do think that there is Yaoi on this site but just not so noticable.

What?! You illing.

Shouju, female tears and drama and actual bitchy attitude that's not tsundere, I mean, is the best thing. "SHOJOFAG_LAWL"

Currently Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi is the only actual yaoi title on Crunchyroll. There's also Uraboku, but it's more shonen-ai than yaoi. Personally I would love to see more yaoi on CR, but there aren't many series out there. There are OVAs and the occasional movie, but those are very hard to license.

I am astounded at how many people claim that there's no market for yaoi. In terms of licensed manga yaoi definitely out numbers yuri, and I an always frustrated at the fact that yuri seems to always be about schoolgirls! Yaoi tends to have a lot more variety. This also reminds me of how many people claimed that there was no market for Free, which then topped Bluray charts!

Ehhh... it seems like there's not as much of it (or at least hinting of it) in shoujo series lately compared to the past? That might just be my perception, though.

It may well be the usual argument for why a market that should be there apparently isn't:

1. Nothing is produced targeting a certain group (I guess "translated into English" in this case?)
2. Said group doesn't buy/watch much because there's not much for them
3. People decide to avoid making things for that group because obviously none of them would buy/watch it
4. Feedback loop!

I think CR should bring yaoi of course but they only seem to be interested in magical girl or shounen titles. They will probably get shounen ai titles like they did with Sekai-Ichi Hatsukoi but not yaoi since it is explicit and this site is full of little kids. Having said that, i prefer to watch yaoi from another anime forum because I can't stand the close minded douche bags flooding the episode comments with their ignorance.

As for popularity, Yaoi is very popular, just visit the infamous yaoi website: Aarinfantasy

There is a huge yaoi manga variety and the US manga shops (including Digital Manga Publishing) advertises many US yaoi shops such as June Manga, DokiDoki, 801 media, Yaoi Club etc

Yaoi sells well when it comes to manga, Yuri is almost nonexistent and the few titles there are don't sell well.

However, it baffles me a lot the lack of yaoi/shounen ai anime in the last few years. I'm not a fan of Shungiku Nakamura (I only liked Junjou Romantica) so more titles from her don't interest me. I would like something more explicit and mature like Legend of the blue wolves and Ai no Kusabi (still waiting for viewfinder anime and not an animix ). I don't think we have ever had a yaoi anime series, just shounen ai titles like Loveless, Mirage of Blaze, Gravitation, Gakuen Heaven, and Sukisho. The rest are just OVAs with Sensitive pornograph as the most explicit one (I don't count Boku no Pico because I don't like Shota).

I personally believe that the OVAs such as Maiden Rose, Sex pistols, Kizuna, Kusatta Kyoushi no Houteishiki (or any manga by Kodaka Kazume, especially "Border") and Embracing love could have been made into a 12 or 24 episode series very well. The mangas are my favorites but the OVAs seemed so rush....still, the older yaoi OVAs are my all-time favorites!

My dream is to see an anime or OVA of "In these words"

PS. I don't consider Uraboku as shounen ai and let alone yaoi. It is shoujo (unfortunately >_>) even though the mangaka did several shounen ai mangas in the past (like Time lag).

I see lots of differing things about factuals stuff about the demographic; I guess that it's a learning experience. Anywho, it's probably best to air out your request for showing these types of shows here:

Good luck with that.
