If the anime is available on Blu Ray, I get it on Blu Ray.
No particular reason, I'm just a sucker for those kind of things.

I've been completely converted to Blu-ray the last couple of years. I never buy any series or movies on DVD. Mainly in "fear" that they might get released on Blu-ray at a later point. And my "fears" have proven to be justified, more than once.

Depends on anime. Another is dvd here, but on my bros ps3, its just like the hd snippets I saw online!

Mostly bluray cos quality is so much better. As for vhs, only ever got pokemon, which was still awesome quality. Yet you can't argue with hd, so clear and brighter and colourful.

I prefer Blu-ray because the quality is better, but as far as the majority of purchases would go I'd say DVD because it's cheaper and still perfectly good .

I have a PS3 I use for anime blu-rays and DVDs and it is hooked up to an HDTV. If an anime is in hi-def and available on Blu-ray, I will get the Blu-ray version.

Blu-ray any day but if there is no Blu-ray for it, then obviously go with the DVD.

Definitely Blu-ray here. I'll get the DVD if it's the only option, but in when available, Blu-ray all the way.

Blu-ray. Even though it can be hella expensive, I prefer to watch thing in HD. Unless if they only release it in DVD

I try for the combo packs, but Blu-Rays is what I aim for. usually I see the DVD for $10 or $20 less so I tend to fork it out and get the Blu-Rays.

Though there are times when you can't beat the price for a DVD compared to a Blu-Ray, but more times then not it's usually a small gap in my mind.

I buy my anime on Blu-Ray because It looks a lot better than dvd but that depends on the release.
Funimation releases a lot of upscaled Blu-Ray. It usually looks better on the blu-ray than the dvd anyway.
And Aniplex of America is waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy too much expensive.

The Movie The Garden of words is very stunning on Blu-Ray.

Blu-Ray if subtitled. DVD if not subtitled on Blu-Ray.
