I'll buy on blu-ray if possible, but I don't stress about it. I have a much easier time seeing the difference in quality on live action shows & movies than I do with animation.

Yes, Blu-Ray is the way to go, especially since it makes the art and line work stand out so much better so you get a crisp image.

I just started a collection with a Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack which is awesome to me. I prefer Blu-Ray but I don't mind buying DVD.

I used to collect anime DVD... but If I were to collect now, blu-ray is the best, your player wont scratch your disc.... UNLESS you do it on purpose...

Bluray if I can, get the dvd if there's no choice. If bluray version exists anywhere in the world, i will get or stick with dvd if a gift.

HD is worth it for anime, it's just a matter of the price & the extras. Anime is clearly more noticeable on bluray.

Bluray all the way! I used to be happy with VHS but after seeing it stream on HD here, only even better quality Bluray is worth buying. Getting 480p DVDs... only if Bluray isn't available and even then, I think about it, is it really worth it?

Though I must say it is about the extras for me these days. Bonus art, CDs, episodes, novels, manga, boxes.... they make a huge difference on making me buy or not.

Usually blu-ray if it's available.

I'm happy enough with DVD for my animes as I can't afford a Blu-Ray player at the moment

If a series I want is available in bluray I get that, if not then I settle for DVD. If you have a bluray player I see no real reason not to get bluray 1080p(bluray) vs 480p(DVD).

Well why would anyone go with a DVD if you can watch Blu Ray? I normally would want a combo pack, but if that's not an option, I just go with the Blu Ray

Blu-Ray or DVD whichever one I can get, cause some anime dont have Blu-Ray

Who wants to watch anime at anything below 1080p. Gotta have dat quality.

This!!! I demand top quality for my anime viewing pleasure. I'm not being spoiled or anything, but when you work hard in this day and age, you just gotta ask for more.

It would depend on which one is the better product, and what they did to the video. I have heard many tales of people doing things to non wide-screen programs similarly to what they did to movies to fit them on TV screens, and bad restorations.
