My epic pc games are old school:

1-Heroes of might and magic III
2-Myst
3-Need for speed 2 (the new versions are on console)

I remember when the first Heroes of Might & Magic came out. I was like "WTF IS THIS!? WHAT HAPPENED TO RPG???" then I found that it was similar in play as Warlords 1-3 and liked it. lol Admittedly, I never played any of the later installments, and same for Might & Magic, after the 6th installment went 3D.

But yeah, here's a list of games that's a definite must-play on PC (my opinion):
1. Descent: FreeSpace

2. Warcraft 2

3. SimCity 2000

I have the homm 1,2,3. That game was so old, I can't say that I remember when it released because I was only 1 year old but I've played when I was 8 or something. The third is my favorite and I want the fifth, it's already in 3D. And cool, I didn't know the existence of Warlords, but the game has the same kind of strategy as Age of Empire, but it's not the same gameplay. oh and I love Sims x3

Well, thanks for making me feel old! xP I loved the Age of Empires series and I should have picked up Age of Empires 2 HD when it went on sale that one time.

As for The Sims, I had sunk so many hours into that game... The first game was about breaking all the laws of morality with your Sims and see how long they can last without sleep or no way of getting out of the pool (ironically, even Death couldn't swim to reach them). The 2nd game was so cramped full of custom items that it just took forever to load...

Diablo 2 - Because once you play D3, you'll wish you were playing D2....

Fallout (1 or 2) - Know your roots. Fallout made isomecs, dont let anyone tell you different.

DooM II - it's story will change your life. A harrowing tale of man .... shooting stuff.... and things.

All of the above are great, in the sense that you can waste a ton of time and not feel bad about it. Plus even their [I'm] old, still fun

noo sorry, I didn't want to make you feel old >< I like those games, and I'm glad to know that someone knows those games. And about Sims, I didn't play on pc, but on console. With Sims 2, 3, and Sims2 castaway. They remove some options that have on pc and there's no Death unfortunately.

1.Team Fortress 2 - Yeah there is a console version but almost no one plays those anymore and haven't been updated in years PC has between over ten times the times the amount of content and its free now so it cost you nothing to try.

2.World in Conflict - One of the best strategy games ever made more action focused then most so easier to get into fantastic single player campaign and excellent online as well.

3.Legend of Grimrock - Really fun old school dungeon crawler type RPG but with modern graphics and real time combat system enjoyed this so much more then I thought I would one of my favorite games.

Playing Elsword NA at the moment. Love the game, hate the community.

1. Lineage 2 (2003-2010)
2. Half-Life: Frontline Force (2001-2004)
3. Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction (2001-2004)

Having played Lineage 2 for so long, it wouldn't seem right not to mention it. But I can mention a few others. I just don't know for how long or how intensively I played them (it varied a lot). Half-Life: Natural Selection, Age of Empires 2, Heroes of Might and Magic 3.

Too bad you'll never get to play Half-Life: Frontline Force anymore.
And Lineage 2 sucks these days.
I'd go for Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction, but it won't work right not on your Win8, presumably (color issues). The same goes for Heroes of Might and Magic 3, too, and Age of Empires 2.

Yup, I'm fresh out.

I would say that you have to try Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic (single-player game).
