If there's something else that I left out, by all means write your favorite in your description. Just wanted to get to know more about my fellow anime fans

I feel that Genre's are too broad as it is.

And the listed options combining multiple Genres, which is a thing, makes it more befuddled.

What's the difference between a Comedy like Shin-Chan and a Romance like Rec both doing in the same catagory? Because Rom-Com's are decent and popular! They work together but they're not just one thing!

Same with Action Adventure! Magi is a great example of an adventurous anime, while Fate/Zero is more about the action and has no adventure.

Gore isn't a Genre, at least...I don't believe it is. Horror is acceptable.

You're going to have to go more in depth than those!

And I'm a Gundam Fanatic, not an Otaku, and Mecha anime just don't fit on dah list.

I like all genres of anime with the exception of Yaoi and Hentai. I'm also not big on magical girl animes for kids.

On the flip side, my favorite genre is action/comedies. If I had to pick a specific subset, I would say animes set in the Heian and Sengoku periods are my favorite, before the modernization of Japan. The ones that center around Samurai, Ninjas, warriors, etc...

Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X, Gintama, Samurai Champloo, Samurai 7, Katanagatari, Peacemaker Kurogane, Shigarui Death Frenzy, Afro Samurai, Sword of the Stranger, Sengoku Basara, etc... Just an all around solid genre. I even find myself enjoying it's less serious moe spinoffs, like The Ambition of Oda Nobuna and Koihime Musou.

I'll go for any genre if the story is in line with my tastes. Unless it's netorare.

I prefer Slice of Life, personally. I feel like the genres listed are a little limited, but I guess they do work for quite a bit of stuff...

I'll watch most anything, to be honest. But given the choice, i'll take relaxing slice of life comedies over most other stuff.

Actually, i'm noticiing that there are even different sub-genres of slice of life. For example, you have different shows like Natsume Yuujinchou, Mushishi and Gingitsune, then there's stuff like Nichijou, Daily Lives of Highschool Boys and And Yet the Town Moves. Finally, you also have stuff like Lucky Star, K-On, and Ichigo Marshmallow. I like all those shows, but I prefer stuff from that last genre grouping even more.

I'm a girl but I prefer shounen action/adventure stories. I also like horror and some comedy titles. Romantic plotlines are OK but I don't really go for manga that are only about romance. They just bore me.

Convoluted romantic entanglements are fine, but something like the second cour of SAO is tough for me.

Although when I run headlong into it I have to see it through, otherwise it'll just haunt me.

I probably like all genres to a point but I would say my favorites are probably battle shounens(Yeah I know it's not a genre), episodic SoLs, comedies, and sports.

The Best Genre would be a Comedy Sport anime filled with Romance but stuff like that doesn't exist yet.
Or I just missed it

A bit of everything. Yoai & the other one, sorry cant remember & hentai are not on my list. Nothing is wrong with them, they just do not appeal to me.
Ultimately it's the story, the characters, art style & a gripping premise that gets my interest! If the story has no wow or characters don't interest, then it doesn't get my attention.

It's a real toss up. Action, Adventure, Comedy, Romance, Horror, etc. It's all good. My exception has always been sports, but I think even that might not be an exception soon enough. I've felt compelled to try them recently due to enlightened perspective on the genre.
