Fairy Tail episode 19 is the best episode for me. I know it's a filler episode, but it was really funny.
If half an episode counts, then the first half of Kotoura-San ep 1 was good.

Yeah... I either don't remember, or nothing really sticks out to me...

Oooh.

Psycho-Pass episode 13, when they revisited what happened in episode 11. Both those episodes were brutal.

And episode 10 of Shin Sekai Yori.

TTGL episode 11, when Simon finally accepts death and comes back with GAR. No other part of the show gave me the same feeling as when he came out the cockpit and pointed to the heavens.

Psycho-Pass episode 11. Brutal but so, so well done.
The Shin Sekai Yori hospital episode. (Episode 19?) It just felt really well done. Also the one episode where Tomiko explains stuff to Saki somewhere in the middle.

Also, a controversial one, but I think that Kyoukai no Kanata episode 10 is a wonderful stand-alone episode. The series isn't that great as a whole, but the way they did everything in that episode was just breathtaking, and it made you think a lot more about the narrative before that point.

Since the thread about it got locked and scooted away, I'll post about Naruto (episode 345) here.

Because, despite its faults, it deserves it.

I don't remember many individual episodes of an Anime that I thought were amazing... but...

Beyond the Boundary Episode 6 was a personal favorite
Sword Art Online Episode 3 was a nice kick in the face.
Also the latest Samurai Flamenco was an amazing tone change.
There is probably also a RuoKen episode that I felt was perfect

Already been said, but definitely Clannad After Story episode 18
That episode made the After Story one of the best things I have ever seen.

I will have to agree!

The episode was feel's overloaded with a heartfelt backstory... but the nagging impression that no mater how real and heavy the story is, it's just as much propaganda as it is tragic...and that was terrifying.

Really, Magi 2 is going big in it's second season.

Monster: episode 14. The scene with Eva at the end was brilliant.

Gungrave: episode 26. Great ending to the tale of 2 bros.

Steins;Gate: episodes 23-24. Touching and beautifully executed.

Gintama: episode 144-145. End of the Yoshiwara arc is just beautiful. Hits all the right notes.

Rurouni Kenshin: episodes 59-60. End of the Kyoto arc and battle with Shishio is the stuff of legend!

I have nowhere else to gush at this second, so I'ma gush right fucking now.

I just finished Genshiken Second Season episode...12 maybe? It was the Madarame-Confession episode.

10/10 for me at the moment, altho it's probably due to the story and writing, altho the studio in charge of animation did very well here.

Madarame is my favorite character, and as the author likes to brag, he's the most "moe" character in Genshiken. I totally agree.

Now, for those who just joined up in that season, the Confession episode was more like a movie. Where two people who had an awkward early days type of romance got together one last day, and you got to see that day. Hato, the new trap character, is essentially the audience here. He see's the situation from the outside, but is invested in it. So when the serious situation happens you're really into the story.

But for someone like me, who's seen the original Anime, and just finished reading 9 Volumes of the Genshiken Manga, this moment was the climax of a long ass romance sub plot. We original viewers were not in Hato's shoes, but Madarame's. We sat with him as the budding romance happened and saw the moment he realized it, and damn did the season show us how much he was suffering.

It's similar to the end of Genshiken 2, in which Sasahara had his own character moment. However, Madarame's had some deeper roots.

I really liked the episode. It just might go up there as one of my favorites.

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 Episode 11: If you can get through that episode without shedding a tear, you have a heart of stone.

Dragon Ball Z Episode 190:

Now and Then, Here and There Episode 3: Every episode in this show is a 10/10, but this particular episode really helps set the dark mood of the setting.

Gohan vs cell ..... wow even nowadays with an elitist mindset I still go back to that fight. There is no word for that fight other than epic.
