Your profile shows you joined on January 15, so I'll just assume that 10 days is "soon" in your book.

If you tried to cancel within the first 24-48 hours, you probably got a message that it couldn't be canceled because your payment was still being authorized. This is normal. If you are still getting it after 72 hours, it would probably be best to contact customer service directly via the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of any page.

Keep in mind that when you cancel, your premium membership ends immediately. You don't get the remainder of the 14 day trial.

You should use the contact page to get a faster response. Even though these forums are monitored, it could be days before it is seen by someone who can do something; direct contact emails get a much higher priority.

contact support

Also, if your email provider filters, you may need to check your spam folder for the response, though. For some odd reason, CR emails will sometimes get captured there.

Would you be able to help me out with some membership questions? Sorry, I just recently joined and I'm using my free trial to get the hang of things. I was wondering when my free trial is up will there be an option that lets me take off automatic renewal? Or would I have to ask support to take it off for me? Also, if I take off automatic renewal and my say month of premium membership is up would I just have to buy another month and so forth. How exactly does it work from there? If you could help me out thanks!

Disabling automatic renewal isn't normally an option for month-to-month billing. You can contact customer service and ask them to discontinue automatic billing, but if you signed up again once that membership expired, automatic billing would be in effect again as you would be starting a new subscription.

If money is tight and you don't know if you would have the money each month to pay, a better option might be bookmarking your membership status page, taking note of the next billing date, and cancelling just before that if you won't have the money.

I get it.. so basically if you're doing month to month then it would be better to leave automatic renewal on? Because if you disable it and you buy another month then automatic renewal will be on again? I'm just trying to figure out how it works, sorry.

That is correct.

The only way I know of to do a non-renewing monthly membership would be to purchase a gift membership for yourself. If you go to to the membership comparison page and scroll down to the bottom, you'll see a "gift a friend" option in small type for each membership type.

It appears this option is sent to an e-mail address rather than a username (logical, since the gift recipient might not be a member), so even if it kicked up about being sent to the same e-mail address, the obvious solution would be to have a different one to send it to.

I got it, thanks for the help! Do you know if the same concept applies to a three month membership or would it be different?

With the longer memberships there should be a "Cancel renewal" button if you are more than 30 days from the renewal date, but I've seen a few reports around the forum of that not working properly.

All things considered, if you don't want to worry about unwanted automatic renewals, purchasing a gift membership for yourself seems to be the best way to go.

I have know clue how to get to the place where you can cancel your account. I am having no troubles canceling my account BECAUSE I CAN'T EVEN TRY. Also, when I was getting my free trial, I just clicked back when it cam to the part where you were supposed to enter in your credit card info because I was like "Why do I have to enter it if it's free?" but some how It still let me get my free trial even though I didn't enter in all the info. I'm not sure if that effects it, but I would like a step by step explanation how to cancel my free trial.

thank you,

Your account doesn't appear to be premium at the moment..

But if it was, you would go here to see the status and a cancel button would be there, as long as it was on a credit card:
/acct/membership

Paypal or iTunes payment methods would be cancelled differently.

Well, unless there's something messed up in their system, you don't appear to have a trial active right now, at least, not with the user name you are posting here... Deleting your account shouldn't be necessary. Unless you have a second login account that you don't know about from xbox or such...

But you should check here, just in case, to see if your Credit card got stored.
/acct/billing
If there's nothing there, and you didn't pay with Paypal or ITunes, you should be OK...

If you do get a bill for some reason, like a dual account, then you would need to use the contact link to sort it out: /contact
