I swear too much, but I grew up in a house that didn't allow swearing so I don't have a very hard time suppressing it when needed.

Yeah. People swear too much. But I think we've all got accustomed to it that we don't care anymore. :3

Yes but it doesn't bother me. I don't curse at all (even when I'm angry) but it doesn't bother me when others do (my mom even curses quite a bit and she's a Christian lol). It only get's on my nerves on how often they do but that's with any word. Just like some of the girls who can't help but say "like" after every word they say (yes I have actually heard and seen this done in public).

Which is why it's annoying when kids and young teens in high school curse because most of them don't know moderation when comes to their vocabulary. I always try to think of a better way of expressing my thoughts before I speak.

Well if you see cursing as a bad thing, then yeah people curse too much. But what is cursing though?

It's just a strong word. Sometimes it makes communication come across more clearly.

Like, I pooped today and it hurt. Vs I took a really big shit and it blew out my asshole

well yeah.. a lot of people curse too much these days..

different gender , age and circumstances. It just hurt a lot hearing even those little kids cursing. Like, woah.. when did they learn something like that?!

for those thinking it looks cool saying those words coming out of from their mouth, then try to take search again what's the real meaning of word "cool."

I don't mind swearing myself and think that people who do have a problem with it are sensitivity freaks, but it has to be done tastefully and at appropriate times.

It's just another word in my opinion. Plain and simple.

I'm a sailor, so I definitely have a mouth like one.

I dunno. There is just something really satisfying when you cuss. It just feels good, you know?

It seems like people curse a lot these days, whether it's over the Internet, or during a conversation in-person. Do you think that people these days curse too much? Discuss.

Yes and they make fun of over cursing in comedy.

Also you shouldn't do it around kids who don't know the meaning of the word. Unless you want them to know the word, then teach it to them.

Don't think anyone should really care unless you're in a public place, or you know that the people around you don't like it. Like if you're with your family, who more often than not will not condone that. Nothing wrong with it, but strangers around you shouldn't be subjective to it.

Tbh, anybody I see on this thread right now that will say there's too much swearing in society nowadays will come across as a self-righteous pretentious mega nob; you will look veritably uncooler than the people who let swear words just dominate every other word they're saying, which is just a sign of a lack of education. But to question whether there is an unnecessary amount of swearing now is not to prove you are better off than people who do swear. Basically, nobody should give a toss if anybody else swears, because if you do, you clearly want to impose rules to reduce it. To that I say, fuck you!

Yeah, but its gotten to the point where it's just ordinary language so it doesn't really bother the majority of society anymore. Personally I grew up not swearing so I don't curse often but I hold no harsh feelings toward those who do, I just like to find more creative words to express my emotions. Keep it classy. I find it funny because practically all of my friends have at least commented once about having never heard me curse. It's hard to come across somebody else in real life who doesn't curse anymore.
