Well I guess this explains it.

I just started my free 14 day trial (and set up a payment plan), only to have it freeze and restart my PS3 after every episode I watch.

Looks like I'm going to have to cancel. Unstable application => hard PS3 restarts => possible future damage or corruption = I can't support it.

I've used the app for over a year now on the PS3 but in the last month I haven't been able to see anithing, whe I select the show it seams to be trying to load but after a small freeze, it just reload the screen. I've already purged the queue and uninstall and re-install the app but its the same problem every time, seriously it's been a whole month! anyone have this problem? any suggestion?

Thanks in advanced

I've been experiencing the following issues with my PS3 CR app:

- The app will randomly skip to the next episode in a series without any buttons pressed.
- The app will frequently crash to desktop.
- Significant lag in video playback with no comparable lag in audio.
-Significant lag in episode playback altogether.
-Lag in scrolling between series and episodes in the main menu.

From experimentation I've gathered that crashing is associated with:

-Fast forwarding/rewinding.
-Selection of a video from the main menu.
-Prolonged lagging of any sort.

Further experimentation has revealed that lagging issues related to playback are not resolved by allowing videos to buffer.

I have not been prompted to update the app on launch, so I am operating on the assumption that I have the latest version of the app installed already. A rather frustrating list of issues to be sure.

Follow these steps:

1. On your PS3 desktop, go to the PSN tab and enter the PlayStation store.
2. Sign in your PSN account.
3. Scroll down to "Apps" in the PlayStation Store main menu.
4. At the far right select "PS3 Apps".

The Crunchyroll app is there.

The PS3 CR app is not yet available outside of North America.

It's not available officially, likely due to some exclusiviting BS with Animax's substandard streaming option.

However that just means that it's not in the UK PSN Store, not that it doesn't work. You just need to create a secondary US PSN account on your PS3. (Doesn't need a payment card, does need a US address...)
Log in with that. Download, install and first-run the CR app in that account. Then switch back to your normal UK account. It'll work fine after that.
