One simple word...

There are many "types" of people in this world. Good. Bad. Indifferent. People just attempting to live their own little live in a small portion of the world. People who make a life exploiting other people. People who make a life devoting their own to other people. People that believe they know their place a world and galaxy so vast we cannot perceive everything in it. People that strive to excel and be known. People that believe themselves to be a God among the other people.

We are all just people. We hate each other. We love each other. We MUST interact with one another.

Sidebar; the internet has certainly been a technological and societal marvel. Allowing (sometimes seeming to encourage) this interaction among people at a speed and ease unknown in the past millennia of human history. Is this a good thing? A bad thing? Regardless of how hard an individual may strive to be "an island", they will inevitably be influenced by someone else in some manner. Subtle or grandiose, yet it is inevitable.

A mass mentality forms and sides are drawn regarding subjects in this vast web. Understanding and misunderstandings abound as humanity grapples with each other in the form of words (and often military might).

Ramblings aside, do you believe this ease of communication a good thing? A bad thing? Should people love each other more regardless of the atrocities perpetrated against each other? Should they embrace the hatred and realize that every person is out for themselves (the basest survival instinct)? Thoughts in general on "people"?

TL;DR

Do people suck or are they awesome?

The internet is an amazing invention, it allowed for so many things to take place, great things and bad things. People will always be different and opinions will always vary and as a result a person might seem awesome to one and yet boring to another. The internet allows all people to express their opinions that most societies would regard as a heinous crime or whatever else, it also means that people that express their views can interact with others that share a different view and as a result opinions and cultures get mixed together into one giant mix.
You can't really say whether someone is awesome or not since it all depends on your own opinion, whether you think your opinion is rational or not matters very little since the reality of things are probably going to be different anyway so yeah. Whilst you may perceive someone to be awesome, another person might find him stupid.

Technology: Most technology is always going to be for better or for worse. One of my favorite examples being atomic power. A revolutionary power source that is one of the cleanest technologies available, but it also spurred the development of atomic weaponry, which is amazing when you see how different they are. The internet is is a great development in communication that allows information to spread at a lightning pace. The technology, like all technologies, can be miss-used by human hands, and it is those miss-uses that we require laws to govern. But, even law is an invention by mankind in order to protect ourselves. The thing is, mankind must strive to make sure things work for the best, and when it is done well or not, it shows. And, how it fails can be for a number of reasons. It's as simple as "nothing ventured, nothing gained", and that humanity will live and die by their own creations.

People: Human's and their societies, like always, are social engineering projects, and people need to realize this. No one person will ever be raised alone unless they live in total and complete isolation from outside influences like other people, art, and books. Humans, while incredibly contradictory as a species, are also still social pack animals as well. We are all partially the product of ourselves and the people or things that influence us.

This is all, IMO.

I'm an introvert, so I don't really enjoy socializing with people. But I do love being with people. Which is contradictory and weird.

I think there is good in most people, we just have to search below the surface. We like to focus on other people's negativities, that's why we fail to see the positive aspects of their personalities.
Likewise, other people like to focus on our own negative aspects... that's why we often feel we don't fit in or rejected.

I may get along with people on the outside, but I certainly don't agree with people on the inside. If there's one thing people should take away from my post is this: no man is an island

Even without the internet, people will still interact with others in real life. The internet just gives people the opportunity to communicate with more people, but it is not necessary. It is just a privilege of the times. Though I suppose with every new invention or innovation, there also comes new dangers and risks. But as long as people become wary of those risks, then they should be okay.

With how people would create weapons of mass destruction just to gain power over(or equal to) other countries and other people, I think people are the most awesome yet terrifying creatures on the planet.

People kind of suck. Following crowds and trends, smile in your face and stab you in the back, talk shit about each other, best friends become strangers, everyone who marries gets a divorce, etc

I'm glad I met the different kinds of people, both good and bad. It made me the person I am today.

I'm not a fan of people in general but I'm about as uncaring as it gets so the people I meet don't bother me. You encounter all sorts of people every day. The internet and age of technology allows convenience for social interaction but also comes with it's own set of problems. If I have to associate with people I'd rather it be in person. Easier to garner more information from them that way. Might not be as convenient, but I got along fine before all this tech crap so I'm used to it.

In the end I just dislike people as a whole but I like to analyze everyone.

I always have to find out the hard way that people suck, but I always see the best in people.
In other words, optimism drives the human race, despite the many failures it has seen.

lol but recently... people suck :(
