That a lot of people are still stuck watching shounen shows... no, not just the big 3 but pretty much shounen battle manga in general...

People bitch over each others taste in different anime shows on how their show is better than theirs.
I wanna smack the taste out of both sides.

I learned to never go to a "Why ___anime is good", etc. post and start badmouthing the flaws and the anime in general.

Oh- and that there's no such thing as a "perfect anime" because everyone has different tastes(usually much different) and expectations- not to mention that all anime have flaws. It's just a matter of either how well those flaws are made up for or how to shape the anime around the flaw to appeal to some other fanbase(no matter how radical it may be).

Reading source material then posting about it before it is shown in the anime is something you shouldn't do.

Haters gonna hate, basically.

Especially those who have too much time on their hands and feel the need to express their daily dose of hate on the popular shows (Big 3, SAO, AOT...) because their favorite moeblob show isn't getting more than 12 episodes. Wow, you're like so cool.

Not to be rude, but I've learned nothing.

I mean, this isn't really an education forum, anyway. It's a bunch of people throwing out random opinions about different anime. I could see if you were a newbie to anime how this forum would be educational in some regards. You might learn what some terms mean like "Shonen", "Moe" or "Mangaka", etc..., or some classics you should check out. But, for an old dog like me, I'm not going to get anything out of this place as far as learning goes.

That being said, I just enjoy sharing opinions on anime with each other here.

Lots of creepy adult people into anime that involve 15 year old girls kissing each other frequent this place.

That people will comment on an anime saying it's on the dropped list or in danger of it, like anyone should care.

Mainly I learned that I can interact with anime fandom without cringing ><

Also had a fun transformation. At first I thought I liked things totally different than the main thrust of the crowd, but I saw if I look deeper, there are plenty of folks that like the same kind of stuff.

Finally I learned that you can get a lot of value out of applying deconstruction and lit-crit methods to anime. Really fun and eye opening.

Hey, this is like the same for me!

I learned that normal(ish) people like me also like anime.

And I also learned that smart people whose opinions I respect can have different tastes than me and that's okay (even if they are still wrong).

And I've learned that it's smart and fun to analyze anime with other people, because you get different perspectives that way.

That people have some odd taste in anime. For example, I tried to get into Strike the Blood, but the lack of consistency, underdeveloped characters and unnecessary fan service just drew me away completely. Though people will praise it like it's the best anime yet. I just don't get people ^.^.

Oh also, I learned that this is the one community in the entire internet where you can come into a discussion with an extremely contrary (EXTREMELY) opinion and not get blown to hell by the fans inside. The CR community is shockingly kind to haters
