I learned of the term "Moeblob", not sure exactly what it means, but it seems to be a thing.

moeblob is a genre that is about nothing more than cute characters being cute, doing cute things, etc etc etc... there's no story, it's 100% fluff.

read: most KyoAni series.

If there is a question, and "One Piece is the best" is an answer, not choosing "One Piece is the best" is akin to treason, and dealt with much the same.

/troll

But really, I have learned that anime runs a BIG FUCKING GAMUT. I mean really, if you can think of it, there is an anime of it, someone has written doujinshi about it, there is porn about it, and there are dakimakura for it.

Thus why KyoAni is master race when it comes to animation studios.

I've learned that plot is the only thing that matters, ever.

Most things that have "no plot" are comedies, or analogous to comedies. Cute girls doing cute things, silly people doing silly things. In anime the two are often combined. The Monty Python series has nothing resembling a coherent plot, but no one ever complains about that. Lucky Star, Nichijou, and K-on could be said to have "no plot" and, what a surprise, they're comedies.

Cuteness is just a cash-generating tool. I don't really get why those shows sell so well, either, but most of the fans must also buy things that aren't moe-tastic because the vast majority of shows each season aren't, so I don't see why it matters.

The lack of a plot is the appeal. Pacing is unimportant (and something many anime fall short on anyway), so the show is easy to pick up and the only thing to judge is "did I enjoy the episode?" If not, maybe next week's is more enjoyable. No conclusions to worry about, you can quit watching at any time without regret. It's an easy-going ordeal.

It like eating a snack instead of a meal.
If your new snack (plot-less anime) isn't to your liking, try another flavor (episode) or brand (studio/anime.) It can easily be stored in the cabinet (your queue) and picked up again if you have a taste for more. Abandon it for a long while, and you may decide that it's stale and move onto something else next week.

If you go to restaurant for a meal (plot-based anime):
You look for what you have a taste in, looks good (nice promo vid/animation style), or comes highly recommended.
After choosing, you then book yourself for a good hour or two to partake in the meal. You must then make your way through the entrée (introduction) and part of the main course (the plot) before deciding if you had wasted your time or ruined your appetite by visiting such a place. If it's terrible, you might choose not to finish your meal. However, if it's alright, you are then invested in it, for the food only lasts so long before it becomes cold or stale. And it's best to finish it while it's still fresh (in your mind.)

No. It would help if the really good shows didn't all come out in the last half of the week. It's also too damn cold.

I've learned that people who live south of the 49th parallel think they know cold (teehee, just being silly. northern Minnesota probably get's it a lot worse than Toronto, eh)

I know, right? I feel society refuses to accept my sandwich making abilities because of my gender.

What's really bothering me is that I have miniatures that I want to prime, but I am not going to do it in the house and the garage is too cold when the temps drop this far. <-First World Problem

Also, I like to be able to walk to and from my car and get gas with my coat unzipped and my hands bare. I only need about 5F/-15C for this. I find it improves my attitude considerably. It really is the small things that matter.

I could brag that I have experienced a range of over 150 degrees (Fahrenheit) during my lifetime, if that was something worth bragging about.
