Please actually put some real effort and get some proper programmers to handle the problems with the PS3 and PS4 app. These literally represent Crunchyroll in all aspects in quality and professionalism. Right now they are horrible proof that they were both rushed and simply copy pasted from the ps3 to the ps4.

Don't get me wrong. I love that you go and get anime shows for us that we all want to watch. But with your continuing attempt to push new ways to watch Crunchyroll on new devices with out fixing the broken stuff leaves the public expecting the same quality you have put into the ps3 and the ps4 in anything new you make.

It is a bad business model to abandon and copy your abandoned software to port into a ps4. I don't even have a ps4 but my ps3 looks exactly the same and has all the same problems the ps4 has. This is just bad.

Please fix it.

I'm not having many problems with the ps4 app... don't know what to say about the ps3 app though since I don't own one. But I do know that they can DEFINITELY improve the app and it can be very clunky at times.

Heres what I find funny, why did sony on ps3/ps4 approve an app that is literally broken? Crunchyroll you need to get yourselves together! I am pissed off at you guys because I have waited over a year for a update of the app just to improve the streaming, and it seems like you are ignoring your audience. Clearly the development team was lazy, and didn't know what they were doing with the app lets be honest here. The crunchyroll app is supposed to play based on your internet connection correct? Well thats a lie, because I have decent internet so when I run the app on my ps3/ps4 I should see a drop in quality, but no the picture is in hd always that is something that needs to fixed right away. Don't release a app if its not finished, promoting the ps3 app when it first came out was false advertisement, the app doesn't even meet over 50% of the playstation users expectations. You know what this tells you? Crunchyroll you have serious work to do, I don't care if you get a new development team, make the app how its supposed to be which is enjoyable. Now since your development team skills are very poor, I suggest you call someone up from netflix, or hulu, hire some people who actually know what they are doing with a app, because the way I'm seeing it if I can't watch anime properly on my tv through crunchyroll, then what exactly am I paying for? Constant buffering, and a sluggish feel to the app that reminds me of a turtle.

They'll approve your app so long as you go through the proper channels to become a development partner. They (Sony) do not test the applications prior to release.

The application is functional, however as with any software there are bound to be production mistakes that must be ironed out after it has been released. The reason this is the case is due to the way your software functions in differing environment variables. I'll agree that they could have delayed its release to address problems that you are noticing but then would they have really been able to notice these problems without having such a large (and vocal) community?

I like turtles.

My replies are purely superficial as I have no experience with the market on PSN however from what I understand it would be far better to outline your responses in such a way as they convey feedback more than simply whining and insulting a group of people that you've never met. Putting aside that you're paying for a service these people don't deserve your venom any more than the next guy.

the constant force quitting and erroring out of the ps3 app is the worst; makes it hard to watch old shows because they constantly error out

the slow and sluggish load times are just as bad esp when no one else is uing the network at my house and the ps3 is jsut slow as all hell

There is no excuse up to this point, the app have not had an update in over a year on ps3 I believe its still on 1.01 for the update number, thats pure garbage. Also the app should be connected to my account on the website meaning, for example if I want 480p streaming the app should display that not hd if I didn't tell it to. Its simple things like that, that pisses me off the the most, so yes to answer your question I believe they should add a feature in to be able to select the quality you want just like on the website. You want me to state changes that could be made to the app? Ok lets start first of all fix streaming on the app thats the number one option, allow the app to have a feature where you can select your internet speed, or the video quality, much like hulu plus on ps3 old version, before they did the update. Another thing, have it like hulu/netflix/crackle, where it saves your video of where you left off, for example I could watch crunchyroll on my pc/android/ and ios devices and continue to the exact part of the video where I left off, but on ps3/ps4 if you close the video you start from the very beginning which is stupid, considering every other device does it correctly. The reason why its false advertisement is because the app is literally broken and i'm sure I have alot of people to back me up on this, When I get home from class I wanna be able to watch anime on ps3/ps4 with no problem but I can't because the streaming is terrible, and I know its not my internet connection because I stream fine on vidzone/huluplus/netflix/neon alley/ and crackle. So this has nothing to do with my end, its crunchyroll's end thats messing me and the majority of the subscribers on this site up. Every time I wanna watch crunchyroll on my hdtv I have to use my laptop to hdmi, which is unacceptable at this point. Now I can't speak for the people who had their app crash like a million times in one day, because that never happened to me, but as far im concerned they have work to do, If I can watch crunchyroll on my pc/ mobile devices just fine, then its up to crunchyroll to fix the console versions, im going to leave it at that.

Mine (ps3) crashes from time to time, but the thing that irritates me the most is shows I WANT to watch, will not play without stopping every 5 seconds. You could blame my ISP for this (sure, I do, but I hate them anyway) but yet others play without skipping at all! So if all things being equal, then they should ALL skip if it were my ISP's fault.

Watched Golden Time last night. Not a hitch, no skip, no problem. Tried to watch Nagi no Asukara, and bam! pause, pause, pause, unwatchable. Go to Tonari no Seki-kun, watched 3 back to back, no issue. Played the latest Strike the Blood, no issue. Try Nagi no Asukara again? BAM! Pause, pause, pause, unwatchable. wtf? I've even had issues trying to play that one on my computer through the website.

So my stability isn't an issue, it's the streams for certain shows that always seem to fail, like Nagi no Asukara, which is a series I really like. It does it on Kill la Kill once in a while as well. SYB has issues too.

So please address the streams.

I would like to see a better app. I recently got a PS4 and I had an Xbox 360. I loved the 360 app and the PS4 app is just.... there's no comparison. The 360 app is a billion times better. I would hope to see an update soon. One of my biggest pet peeves is it doesn't show you how much of the anime you watched. on the 360 there would be an orange line that would show you that you watched close to half of the episode or more. And now when I want to watch on my PS4 I have to go to my history, find the last episode I watched of that anime and basically guess if I fully finished it or not. it's a pain! I expected to see something like the 360 app but this PS4 app and from what I read is a basically the PS3 app is not so good. I really hope they will fix it and update it soon. I mean the PS4 has been out for a while and I would of figured that they would of updated it by now. Would love to hear if they are going to fix all these issues as well as making the app better and more user friendly....

I have a Canadian psn account and am currently living in the UK. I have been told that there is no support for the ps3 version in the UK.

I have no problem with that but thinking about it there is no difference between consoles sold any where tat would effect the crunchyroll app.

The internal (except for the hard drive) pieces are all the same, the only thing different is the voltage and the region coding on the blu ray and dvd drive. So why should it matter what country I am in when streaming is not an issue with most shows on crunchy roll.

Love film app slightly sluggish but thats the app
netflix app no problem
bbc iplayer no problem.

I'm new to Crunchyroll but I'm having a lot of problems with the PS3 app too. It constantly exits out on its own and I always end up at my home screen. It's starting to freeze too....

I'm just amazed this hasnt been fixed yet. Guess they are working on it, but the time they are taking is just ridiculous. No excuse to take this long tbh.

So. I'm in SE United States. Running your app on the PS4. I've been having trouble for the last week and a half watching anything. Today, I put up a time.

1s of video for each 6s of buffering. Or, let's put it in simpler terms - a 24 minute episode will take me three hours to watch. I have Netflix, too. No buffering whatsoever there. And I still get your buffering issues at 7 AM on a weekday.

I'm going to be cancelling before the end of the month if things don't improve, and fast. Your app just does not work. There are crashing issues, there's the constant restarting I have to do, but in the end, even when everything 'works', it can't stream video.

Please! It crashes constantly! And every single time I hit square to look at other episodes for a show it crashes after about 2 seconds (literally not an exagerattion at all) every single time without fail and my TV just goes black and my ps3 doesn't respond so I have to hit the switch on the back. Its happened 6 times today and its only been 15 minutes...I haven't even gotten to watch an episode of anything yet! >:o

I can confirm its 1.01. I deleted it and reinstalled to see if it helped and it immediately made me update to 1.01 and then crashed as soon as I logged in
