Hi! Is there anywhere in program description or listings that tells what the age rating is for an anime? Want to find a sure method to avoid content that is for Mature Audiences Only.

Thanks!

Yes and no.

Well, there are "genres" but that's usually a crap shoot in actually determining if there are any unwanted content like nudity and mature themes.

There's also setting the age under 18 and turning on the "Mature Content Filter"-

Again, this is a crap shoot not because crunchyroll is incompetent in determining which is which but due to the nature of the Anime culture. School Days, a show dealing with very adult situations a lot, for example isn't filtered through this system although some mods suggest that it's a "Mature" show because it's within a certain genre that's name "Seinen/Mature". This is quite inconsistent because Toradora is there and is not as lewd as School Days.

Additionally, there are also those surprise boob shots and sexual references in shows that doesn't have either the "Mature Content Filter" or "Seinen/Mature" genre. Even though those can be isolated cases in some show, do keep in mind that this is the Anime culture, one that isn't really too parallel with the U.S. broadcasting standards.

Your best choice is to do a bit of research and screen on the shows you are looking up on crunchyroll rather than relying on their system because there's a lot of discrepancies, whether some mods want to admit it or not.

Well, I hope that helps.
